My wife and I spent a brilliant day rock climbing and abseiling with Tim on our recent holiday in the Victorian high country. We have two boys who love outdoor activities and the day was an absolute highlight! Tim was a great guy to hang out with and he took us to some stunning locations. We felt completely safe and free to enjoy the thrills and spills - even as our seven year old took on a 45 metre abseil. The kids have been raving about the day ever since (so have I)!!
We we looking for an interactive and engaging outdoor adventure activity for parents and teenagers. Both Tim and Rohan were great guides, and were willing to add in more challenging aspects to keep us all entertained and safe. The photos taken by Tim and posted on Facebook were great - it meant that we could all have fun without the hassle of un/packing the camera from a dry bag. Tim and Rohan have lots of corny gags to rival my best Dad jokes. Rohan even has tricks with well trained huntsman spiders - nice touch Rohan, you don't get that on other adventure trips. Overall a great trip and memorable for the whole family. Thanks again!!
We had a fantastic time kayaking down the Ovens river. Tim and Rowan were both really friendly guides and taught us a lot. They were keen to have a bit of a fun and a good laugh.Absolutely worth it!
We travelled to Victoria for a long awaited Christmas break. We wanted to do a little bit of rock climbing whilst away, and after doing some research we contacted Absolute Outdoors.I've got to start by saying that Tim (our guide) was very friendly and polite young man. He was very encouraging to my wife and I, and was happy to spend the time figuring out what was best for us - not what was convenient for him. It was particularly special for me as my wife is not particularly experienced when it comes to climbing and is something i've wanted to share with her for some time. Tim knew loads of information about Porepunkah/Bright and its surroundings and picked the best locations for us on a 2 occasions over our week in Vic - he took us to some easier climbs to get started through to more technical climbs nearby when my wife had had enough. The gear itself was quite new as well - my wife's hired gear was practically the same as my own - so we felt very secure, as you'd expect.Next time we're down that way we'll hopefully get some time to go kayaking with them - from what they said, and the other review I've read on TA, it sounds like a nice outing. The only thing I wish is that we had more time to do this more often!
Our 13 yr old wanted to try something new on our yearly trip to Bright so the Tourist Information place suggested a kayaking trip with Absolute Outdoors. Well - it was well worth it! Perfect for an apprehensive 10 yr old and ever so slightly adventurous enough and physical enough for a big strong 13 yr old. Tim, our guide, was great - struck the right balance between reassurance and joking around. He made the afternoon fun and successful. Special mention to Alex, another member of the team, who lent my wife a cheap pair of sunnies so her expensive ones weren't at risk of getting lost or damaged. The equipment was fine; what you would expect for the task. A great family activity - highly recommended!
