avoid going in the middle of August, gets too crowded, u can still enjoy though. And take water with u
The access is a little bit difficult, you better have shoes and not flip-flops. But it worths!!! Amazing waters and colors. There is no cafe or kantine there, so you have to take with you water & food maybe. The day we went there, a local couple appeared from the sea with cold drinks (water, soft drinks, beers, frape) toasts and watermellons!! I'm not sure that it happens every day, so I propose to ask in the next village Maganitis. There you can ask also for a boat transfer to the beach.
The access is quite difficult but really worths it because it is the most beautifull beach of the island with unbelievable "tirquaz" waters . Really crowded on August , so you have to go very early in the morning if you want to be alone.
This is possibly the most famous beach of the island. Close to Magganitis (use the road from Evdilos or Agios Kyrikos to reach it quickly), it requires a 10-15 minute descent through rocky landscape. Avoid flip-flops and use sneakers instead. The way up is actually easier. The beach is indeed wonderful, with crystal blue waters, very similar to those in Ionian islands. We visited it yesterday (almost off season) at 5pm and it was brilliant. Just about the right amount of people (25-30). Since it is tiny and very famous, it can really get crowded. So, as other reviewers suggest, avoid the busy season, especially the first half of August and try to go there late-ish. You increase the chance of really enjoying the place!
Although access is a bit difficult, it worths it as suddenly you get to a tropical rocky beach! Silence, Colors and sun on a perfect combination
I really enjoyed these waters...you can clearly see it even from the photos, it's a wonderful beach reminding you of far away tropical places!amazing place to go!if you don't like trekking you can rent a boat to get there...
The trek down to the beach isn't horrible, you can make it wearing sandles/flipflops, but shoes are recommended. There is a small parking lot, but more than likely you'll be parking on the side of the road. It's worth seeing, but nothing special. Ikaria has much nicer, more interesting, less crowded beaches.
Beautiful beach in a secluded location. I highly recommend visiting! The walk down to the beach can be challenging. Wear more than flip flops if you visit.
it has natural shade under the rocks you do not need an umbrella.Wear snickers and you are ready to go!
If you dont like dusty sand-beaches, but love white small soft pebbles and crystal clear waters, quietness - this is the best beach in Greece! Simple as that.
Its not really the Seychelles...but a nice beach on the south side of the island where everything else is not as easy to reach and comes handy when there is wind in the North side beaches and calm in the South
i hardly can afford Seychelles , here the impression is very close for the beach the stones etcthe color of water is exceptionnal....TAKE GOOD SHOES AVOID SNAPS TO WALK TO ITwe arrived alone it was marvellous
A very long way! OK! Nice beach, but why trouble so much to go somewhere where is so packed with people? There were other nices beaches too, with less noise, much closer and with less trouble. I would say that it is overvaluated.
Only five others that we had to share this beach with in September...yes it was a hike but well worth the effort most places that are worth going to are usually not that easy.Very glad I wore my sport sandals to hike and enjoy the beach (pebbles).I could have stayed all day!!!
It is a very beautiful beach in a small secluded bay with white pebbles in a wild but amazing scenery. You will enjoy crystal turquoise and clear water. The only problem is the ten minutes (-plus) downhill to the beach. Be careful especially in the last section. You should wear closed shoes (preferably sports) and do not carry a lot of things together. Obviously do not try this by the afternoon or the evening hours. The climbing is much easier. In the parking of the beach there is a canteen for the necessary water.
