There is something here for the LEGO fan of any age. The kids loved the 4D movie and all the skillfully erected miniature landscapes. The display explaining how a lego brick is built was very informative. The play section at the end where the kids can build vehicles to race down the ramps is a great way to end the experience. There was a lot to see, if we could have spent more time I'm sure we would have.There is a full service cafeteria and a large (and expensive) gift shop.

We bought half price tickets via website for entry after 2pm....I wouldn't like to pay full price for a relatively small site but still takes 2-3 hours to get round everything.The shooting ride was fun and the kids loved the 4d movie.Gift shop is a rip off..no suprise!

The Legoland Discovery centre's location is directly touching the Oberhausen mall. After the entrance (where you can optionally buy a little booklet where you stamp off your attractions visited) there is a small interactive presentation how plastic is turned into lego blocks.There are some nice attractions like a shooting game where you have to shoot as much items as possible using a laser gun -while sitting in a moving vehicle. There is a small carrousel and a food corner with decent prices. Kids can then play at several places where they can build cars and stuff. There's also a small workshop (15 minutes) where kids can build an item (which can be bought for 3 euros afterwards).Not bad but very small and quite expensive if you compare all of the facilities.

We got a combination ticket from Sea Life and saw the LEGOLAND centre with many opportunities for kids. As old LEGO fan this was a great activity with my kids. Good combination price. Thanks

It was quite fun for my son, especially the 4D movie. There were quite some things to see, and the Dragon Quest was the only real attraction inside. We had a lot of fun with the LEGO Racers: Build & Test, where you can build your own racing car and test it out on the tracks. The Lego store inside was quite a disappointment, it was really small. We still bought some Lego for the kids.

Our family of four visited the Legoland Discovery Centre during our recent trip to Düsseldorf, and while our five- and three-year-old sons had fun, I was less-than-impressed with price-performance. I bought our tickets online in advance for 10 euro each, as opposed to 16 euro at the door, so if you are thinking about going, be sure to plan ahead and buy online. Our savings more than covered our lunch at the Legoland Cafe - which was mediocre and not recommended.There were many different exhibits, and the kids especially enjoyed the Jungle Room. They also liked the ride - although calling it a ride is a bit of an overstatement (think "It's a Small World," but shorter, with Legos, and without the annoying music). There was a live, interactive exhibit that demonstrated how Legos are made, and while the tour guide made a small effort to communicate in English to my kids, much of her attention and energy went towards the German kids. I'm not surprised nor angered by this - we are in Germany, after all, so the burden is on us to learn the language. However, I do think we missed out on much of the experience because of the language barrier.When I asked my kids what their favorite part was, they both replied, "the slide." And there is a cool, multi-story indoor climbing structure with a slide that they loved. But other than that, it was pretty underwhelming. I'm glad the kids enjoyed it, but I wouldn't go back, and wouldn't necessarily recommend it to other families - especially those with older children.
