As you walk the ramparts you are greeted with amazing views at different stages be it looking down at cobbled streets or over the river rance.

Walking around the ramparts on a clear spring morning and looking over the wavy rooflines of Dinan can easily take you back centuries. The town is as it was in medieval days. Walking back down into the town and is cobbled streets, shops have been moulded into the old buildings managing to keep the ancient atmosphere whilst offering the latest in fashion and french cuisine. We stopped at a little cafe and had a savory ' Galette'. Wonderful atmosphere and most people speak english. Prices aimed at the tourist though.

These walls are really high in places, keep hold of your little ones, but the view is worth it. The walls are not complete anymore, and there are bits you can't access, but what you can is worth the time.

Walked around the medieval walls, which were well kept and offered splendid views. The Tudor like buildings were fantastic and every thing was very reasonably priced.

a nice medieval town - well kept - on celebrations / festivals people are dressed with medieval clothes ... do not forget to see the old port - small train service

Nice way to spend a few hours. Good place for looking down over the towns narrow cobbled streets. Nice river views also from the walls

Lovely morning walk over the 'remparts', with beautiful views over the river below and the cobbled streets on the inside of the town.

It is well worth taking the time to walk around the ramparts, you get some nice scenery and lots of old buildings

Fantastic views down to the town, you can walk for a couple of miles if you wish, or just take in the splendid sights. If you do not want the climb from the town, you can drive up and park closer. A must see!

Dinan is a fabulous city to visit. The walls and ramparts are so complete and provide an excellent view of the old city. The view of the roves is like something out of a movie of the 18th century. The buildings within the walls are steeped in history and put into context the story and development of the history of the city. This is city one must visit!

Les Remparts we're directly behind our B&B, so of course, we were intrigued. You can follow the original walls of the medieval city for almost 2 miles. There are several sections where you can climb to the top of the wall and walk around. Many towers, for old gates, and lovely views on to the city, all free, make this a fun activity.

The ramparts are a bit daunting to get to, but the view is spectacular. After seeing the view be sure to visit the church of Saint Sulpice. The are numerous alcoves and stained glass windows to be seen.

Dinan is a 'must see' place. The old buildings, jettied, woodframe dating to 12thC are wonderful & show how old buildings can be made to work for modern use. The Ramparts can be walked around, giving lovely views of the river & town. Lots of eateries from cafes, restaurants, sandwich bars.

My 4 year old son ran around imagining a fight: poring hot oil through the holes, pointing an imaginary bow and arrow or canons... it's not hard to imagine how it would have been in the days. Very well kept remparts and beautiful town.

Well worth the climb. Great views around the city of of the viaduct and Port of Dinan. Some interesting historical information to take you back in time. Lots of stop off points along the way either for photos or a chance to sample the local hospitality. Even the option to have a bit of retail therapy, a new surprise around every corner.
