In the mountainous region of North Georgia, a traveler can expect to find a variety of unusual and interesting places that are relatively close to the beaten path. Tiger Mountain Vineyards is one of those places that travelers should take the time to visit if only for a short time and minimal tasting. Upon arrival at Tiger Mountain, you will be greeted with mountains and fields surrounding a warehouse type facility just at the roads edge. In fair weather, the patio may be flowing with patrons as they sip the latest local offerings. The patio leads to an entrance into the tasting gallery that has a backdrop of wine barrels and the current production displayed on the bar. The tasting has a minimal fee but doesn't detract from the overall experience. Become a member and enjoy some of the member only perks such as: exclusive tastings, promotional dinners, and social events to meet and greet other members. As for the wine, It all tastes exceptionally well and all can be enjoyed with many food pairings or simply sipped alone. For a more detailed expose on the offerings, I suggest taking a short trip and travel to the North Georgia mountains.

The $10 tasting fee was the highest of any of the vineyards we visited. Since we bought wine at all three vineyards (at least 3 bottles at each) the other two vineyards didn't charge us a tasting fee. We gravitate to the white wines mostly and Tiger Mountain is a majority of red wines. They weren't bad, just not our taste. We did really like the Amish Butter Cheese and Thomasville Tomme they had on the table with the tasting. We ordered both cheeses to ship home.

We recently visited Clayton, Ga mountains for a relaxing weekend. We stayed in a tucked away cabin near the Tallulah River. We ate at The Red Barn Cafe on Tiger Mountain Vineyards. Excellent!!! Everything about it was fantastic. It was cozy and unique. The atmosphere made it a night to remember. It was in a real red barn. The food was amazing. the service was even better. The price was reasonable.

At an art event at the Hambidge Center (Rabun Gap, GA) we met Martha Ezzard, author of "The Second Bud." Prior to our meeting, we had lunch which included wine from the Tiger Mountain Vineyards. My husband was so impressed with the wine! After meeting one of the Vineyard's owners, Martha, and obtaining her book we were more determined to visit the Tiger Mountain Vineyards! It was just as exciting as being in California!. To quote my husband, "their wines are as good as any I tasted in Sonoma!" Actually, I think they were better than some he tasted in CA based on his purchase! The grounds are lovely--the mountains in the background, the grapevines, lush green grass, the Red Barn Café, and the tasting room. If you like fine wine, you won't be disappointed!

We were able to attend the harvest party and had a great time! It's become a family tradition with our teen and is fun to share such a unique experience of harvesting the grapes directly from the vine. We were even able to participate in the crush of the grapes we had harvested (looking forward to enjoying them more in about 3 years in the liquid form:) This is a great, family run winery. The Ezzard's are gracious. The wine is great and was our first introduction to Georgia wines. The quality competes with the products from Napa. The tasting room is simple but shares the story of how a family farm was recreated as a family winery. Definitely stop by when you're in the area or make a special trip and don't miss eating at the Red Barn Cafe!

Had lunch here today for the first time. It was fabulous! Seared Ahi Tuna, duck pâté', fried green tomatoes, and the best Gouda Fritters ever! We ordered a 2nd batch! An eclectic menu with a nice selection of their wines. The atmosphere and grounds are beautiful. Dessert is a must, save room for the chocolate torte or creme brûlée!

We love Tiger Mountain Vineyards and try to stop by there as often as we can. Wine tasting at this small vineyard is great. Although previously not big fans of GA or NC wines, my husband and I both love several of the Tiger Mountain wines. We usually buy a case when we stop by, so we can enjoy them at home as well. This is the kind of vineyard where, when we went last August and asked about the grapes of some of the wines we were tasting, they told us to walk into the vineyard and try some of the grapes they were getting ready to pick.

Great wine and fantastic scenery. You can walk around the vineyards and also they have converted an old barn into a restaurant which I plan to try next time I visit.

The wine tastings at Tiger Mountain Vineyards were a good way to pass an hour or so on a rainy August day. The staff were professional, fun, and informative. If the weather was better, we would have definitely gone on the vineyard tour.

Beautiful property and friendly staff. Wife and I enjoyed the wine tasting and purchased three bottles of reasonably priced wines which we continue to enjoy. We will definately return!

The experience was ok. We have a lot of these in NC. Everywhere we have gone they always let you keep the glass after you pay for the wine tasting except here. The wine is ok we did buy a bottle of a very good 2010 vintage of wine.

Not only enjoyed the wine and conversation with the owners, but found the staff very knowledgable. Had a glass of wine and cheese plate at Red Barn Cafe while looking out over the vineyard. Started in 1995 and you can tell they are perfecting their vines continuously.

Visited during the week. Tasting session was $10 for about 8 wines. They have a lot of awards to show for their wines. Pleasant staff, spent a lot of time with us. Wine prices seemed comparable with other vineyards. More reds then whites.

A really don't understand the last review - it most definitely IS a tasting room. Got to taste 8 different wines (everything - including the wonderful Petit Manseng - that they had in stock) for $10 which isn't unreasonable at all and spent well over an hour sampling the wines and conversing with the pourers to learn about what I was drinking. Georgia wines aren't going to taste like California or French wines. However, if you love wine and are interested in experiencing a different "terroir", I highly recommend a stop here. These aren't the overly sweet wines you see too often in the South. Tiger Mountain makes dry wines out of the native Norton and 6-8 European varietals. Many of their wines are good in there own way and definitely worth a try.
