The practice facility at St. Andrew's Golf Club in West Chicago is outstanding. Multiple tee areas include the ability to hit off of the grass in the spring/summer is the true advantage. Along with these multiple teeing areas is the different areas for chipping and putting. This allows a true golfer the ability to really enhance his/her game. There are also multiple teaching professionals available for lessons. All of this at reasonable practice facility prices. The two golf course are good and excellent for outings as St. Andrew's can accommodate so many golfers at once on the two course and their large dining facility.
We've had lunch here a couple times. The winter weekend menu is a little limited but this is a lovely setting and the food is good. Last Easter we had brunch here. The brunch was excellent and there was a variety of breakfast and lunch selections to choose from. This is one of my favorite places to go for a bite to eat. I can't comment on the course because I don't golf.
We just had my daughter's baby shower at St. Andrews Golf club and I could not have been happier with the service. Everyone was eager to help and the food was delicious! Two of our guests came in after the food was put away and I was so impressed at the speed in which they recieved a plate of food. It's so nice to find a place that still values service. The guys all went golfing while we had the shower so it worked out wonderful for everyone.
Our son's wedding was this past Saturday-August 16. Everything about St. Andrew's was wonderful. The reception was held in the the bigger room, which was great for movement of the guests as well as dancing; the food was also very good. The area where the ceremony took place down by the water was beautiful-colorful landscaping everywhere. The women's dressing area was great with lots of space for everyone to get ready. Jenna was the awesome event planner who helped my son and daughter in law with all the plans-thank you Jenna for everything!!! We had a great time from start until the very end! It was a great time!!!
St. Andrews has the best range in the area. Plenty of slots. Putting green. Chippng and sand green. Friendly staff. And 2 great courses at a reasonable price.
Driving range is all grass during the growing season with a East facing range and a South facing range to allow you to manage the wind. Sand trap practice area, chipping area, and pitching area complete the practice facility with the obvious putting green. St Andrews has two 18 hole courses that one would rate as relatively open and good for the amateur. This is a good place to practice your game or work on a weakness.
Rated this way because it was old inside. VERY OLD.carpeting and interior. You could smell it. The food was very good, the interior simply not anywhere I would want to eat. The golfing I understand is OUTSTANDING. I am sorry I rated it poorly, it was not golfing time.
This is a old course, one I have played serveral times over my 66 years. The layout is very mature with big oaks and maples dotting the fairways. If you have not played St Andrews, do it will be memorable.
St. Andrews is a steady as she goes type of a golf course. It's not overly challenging and as such is quite popular for this area. It has a lot of mature trees, some water but there's really nothing too tricky about playing it. It's an enjoyable place to spend an afternoon. It would not be my first choice but if you haven't played it you won't be disappointed with the course.
Beautiful Course, Great Service, Very Profesional Staff, Highly recommended
Popular course but needs to have rangers on the course to move along play. Had to quit early because the play was so slow.
This beautiful established course has been around since the 20's and it just jest better with time. Worth the drive from downstate.
Went to a wedding at St Andrews and the event was very nice. The food was good and the staff was very helpful. The staff went out of their way to be especially helpful with older guests and kids. The bar was lively and the pre-wedding event for the bride and groom and wedding party was just right. I would recommend St Andrews for anyone wanting a fun and beautiful day.
Went to a lovely wedding reception here last weekend. The wedding and music was perfect. However, everything related to the catering was just awful. The service was slow and spotty, with some tables through 2 courses before other tables had any food at all. The bread arrived after the soup was finished, the wine arrived long after the dinners had. The chicken was tough and dry. The ice cream didn't melt. That's right, it was like some foreign substance that you could stick a spoon in without it moving! Thank goodness the music rocked, 'cuz the food didn't!!
Really enjoyed the Greens the golf course was very nice and enjoyable to play.
