If you are an avid shooter then this is the place for you. This facility is the mecca for trap shooting, and hosts sporting clays, cowboy action, pistol, and rifle all in one location. Try to come in mid August to the Grand American Trapshooting Championships and visit with great shotgun manufacturers such as Perazzi, Kolar, Krieghoff, Remington, Beretta, and many more.
My brother and I returned to the World Shooting Complex for a second time due to amazing experience we had the previous year! It's quite a place and offers a variety of shooting sports for the entire family. While we were there (during the Grand American Trap Shoot) we visited numerous vendors, bought a few trap guns, many accessories, some powder, and other reloading supplies. Yes we also shot numerous "Practice Rounds"!A super facility! Highly recommended!
Reading about this complex did not really prepare me for the length of the trap fields at this shooting facility. It was also amazing to see thousands of shooters, RV spaces, vendors and volunteers. We were impressed by the grounds, the lakes and the variety of shooting events that can be hosted here.In addition, I was very impressed by how well everything was organized.
Great experience for the team and the whole family ! We enjoyed our time , here! Plan to be back, next year! Teaching and practice sessions were much appreciated. Top notch!
It should be required of every trap shooter to travel to Sparta at least once. It is fantastic. Over 3 miles of trap fields! The people are very nice. It's easy and fun.
This is a surprising oasis for shooters among the corn and soy beans fields. It is designed for 1,000's of shooters at once. Skeet, trap, sporting clays, pistils, and probably more types of shooting events in which I am not familiar.
Came for the SCTP youth trap shooting nationals. So well organized, bathrooms all over for convenience, vendors super friendly and the grounds are beautiful! Thanks for a great and family friendly experience!
Attended the state trap shoot and Complex for the first time. Hardly and vendors open. Restaurant was open and too busy to wait. Wish they had grab and go items to eat/drink. If you go, you have to bring lawn chairs and pop up canopy tent for shade.
We were here during the trap competition and had a great experience. Campgrounds are nice enough and some are quite spacious and others crammed. No picnic tables or fire rings. Usually if you are here though you are headed to the shooting fields or venders and not looking to "camp". We loved the Sporting Clay course and had a great time. Restaurant was just ok and I wouldn't expect too much if you do go there. They seemed like there were lots of temporary workers as I am guessing the restaurant is not open all the time. We were there early during the worlds and could have taken our car and parked about anywhere we wanted on the row of trap fields and buildings. However the thing to do here is bring your Polaris or golf cart and run its wheels off too and from everything. I would suspect at the height of the competition parking might be sparse but don't know. The carts are the way to go. Rent one early so you have one. And if you rent, expect to get passed a lot by those who have better powered models that they brought - ha ha! Everyone was very friendly and look forward to returning again.
This place is huge! Very new and clean. Everything felt organized. Lots of shopping to do. Not a lot of food vendors or choices though. There is a restaurant on site in the main building.
This comes is an amazing place and a great place for a large shooting event or any shooting practice/event.
We recently returned from the American Nationals Skeet and Sporting Clay Tournament here. Let me start by saying how organized and how friendly every one is. There are so many people willing to answer questions, direct you where to go, etc it makes it simple. Given the size of the place and all the kids and activities going on- it ran smoothly. Even down to the shoot offs and final awards they kept it going and didn't leave you sitting and wondering when things were going to happen. They had a schedule and pretty well stuck to it. Bathroom facilities were adequate, places to eat and drink and also the fact the kids could go in the main registration building and get in out of the heat really helped. This facility is a much better venue than the Ga State SCTP Shoot we attended in Savannah, GA. It was an unorganized nightmare that seemed to drag on forever. Looking forward to next year in Sparta!
My family just returned from our third trip to WSRC. The trap and skeet field are very good. The sporting clays courses are challenging and offer a nice variety of targets. There was a new restaurant than in the past two years. The food was good for it's limited selection. The Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) hold their national competition in mid July so it is always very hot. The vendor storefronts and the main building are air conditioned and a nice place to take a break from the heat. Bags of ice are also available for sale at thre restaurant.
The facility is great for shooters, and decent for friends and family. The restaurant was decent, and the little gift shop was well stocked. The biggest disappointment - there is a shooter's mall, which really should be staffed for major events.
We had dinner here. It was really good. Overall very impressed with the facility. It was huge!!! I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the facility and all there is to do there. Can't wait to go back when I have more time
