We went to get specific info on Hurston and they had nothing in print. Couldn't even tell us how to get to her grave. VERY disappointing.

This home is located between the AE Backus Museum and Manatee Viewing Center in the historic district of Ft Pierce. This home is an early home built back in 1905 and has been restored and moved to this location. The house of seven Gables in this location is now being used as a visitor center. If you are new to Ft. Pierce, it is THE place to go to get brochures and information on what their is to do in the area. The staff member there was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to give me some great advice about where to go and how to get there. She also gave me and another couple a tour of the house. So whether you are new and looking for maps/brochures, or you are a history buff and like seeing these older homes, you should stop by the House of Seven Gables.
