town square nature park

This is a small park to take a break, use the bathroom and maybe get to see some Florida wildlife. If you go dawn or dusk that is the best time for photos or wildlife viewing. There is a short boardwalk to the water. It can be a bit noisy with the traffic from the Park Blvd bridge. There are a few parking spaces and a cabana to picnic. Good place to park and walk to the beach.

My family and I pulled in here to do a little exploring. This is not a large area. There is a small area with a nice picnic shelter and a boardwalk. We did not see any playground for the kids. We hit the boardwalk looking for some wildlife. We saw a few birds, but nothing different you'd see anywhere else in Florida. Granted, my kids probably scared them all away. The boardwalk eventually ends on the canal where someone was fishing. I was expecting there to be either more boardwalk or least for it to go in a loop, not just dead end. The view is fine I guess. We walked back to the car and got back in.While there is not much here, the parking is free and paved. There is a good set of restrooms, and you won't find many people here. Grab a coffee at Indian Shores Coffee and walk back to the trail to drink it. It goes out to the Intercoastal waterway, there are lots of fish, flora and small creatures to see along the way. There are several trails and preserves like this in the area, some long, some short, all different. Enjoy!

Grest resource in the middle of town. So glad they didn't destroy it with sll the resort construction.

This was a nice stop along our walk. A great change of pace from the general commercialization of so much of the gulf front. This little boardwalk out to the intercoastal is a good place to see the nature side of Florida.

Walking down street we saw this nice little park. Yes it us small but it's nice to see the city incest in their citizens by putting a nice little waterfront park. You can look at birds along the water and just relax about 100' from a very busy road.

Somewhat of a disappointment in that the sign speaks of a bigger park than what is there. It looks like a big deal when you pass the sign on the street, but after you park and go onto the typical Florida boardwalk it ain't any different than the other boardwalks in the area. Not much to the place, but is an ok walk to the bay. I would rather go to John's Pass, or just walk along the beach. Not a very big deal, but they do have a nice sign.

A small nature part with water view, pleasant seating and foliage. What a great spot to relax with a friend or bring a book and enjoy the fresh air. The park is close to a historical museum, the beach and several eateries. Tucked back from the hustle bustle, it's just a lovely place to spend a bit of the day.

A small park, easily accessible, and there are ALWAYS at least 6 yellow-crowned night herons roosting there.

We visited this Park with our son over our holidays. Bathroom facilities are clean and there is ample parking. A fun way to learn about the local vegetation and wildlife. We were even surprised by 5 dolphins at the end of the walk near the intercostal canal. What an experience!Also, if you walk towards the City Hall from the Park, there is a small area in the back for kids to play as well as picnic tables. If you continue beyond this to the intercostal canal you can also watch the local fishermen back from their fishing adventures. A nice way to spend some time if you are looking for a brief diversion.
