Attended a model train show there recently. Building was a 'barn.' Required lots of walking to get from parking lot to show building. The area seems best suited to what it was built for: a state fair with lots of livestock!
I have lived in five states, and this is the best State Fair of all! The fairgrounds are easy to get around. Parking is quick and easy, with the truck that picks you up and drops you near your car.The fairgrounds are always kept clean. People emptying trash, which helps to control wasps, and restrooms clean.Always check for the daily deal, aaa, Kroger, check the website before going!
We have been to the Ohio Expo Center many times for multiple events and have always found it to be well cared for. The location is easily accessed as it is beside I71.
The Ohio State Fair is a must in the summer around Columbus. As a youngster I sold Coke at the Fair in 1954. Located just north of the city. The Ohio State Fair is one of the biggest Fairs in the country, The Fair Grounds also host several other events year around, including the Quarter Horse Congress, the biggest horse show in the country. Live entertainment with the biggest names. Plenty of parking and easy access from Interstate 71.
The Ohio Expo Center is a very nice place to go to when there are shows going on inside during the winter months. A quick getaway and it is very easy to get to. Lots of parking. They have shows going on there all year round plus the Ohio State Fair in the summer. It is well worth a trip to the Ohio Expo Center.
Lots of parking and lots of room for the dog show. Grass Available. Parking attendents were very nice as was police officers that were there.
It's the kind of place you can spend a sunny day with some family and just totally relax. My sister's kids had a ball and we were able to enjoy the evening more when they finally crashed after the sugar rush ended :) I think it's over now but the lego trains were awesome!
Came to columbus for a horse show. Days Inn was the best location, within walking distance. We had an enjoyable stay. no problems.
Have been going to this fair with the family for 54 years now. Will continue to attend every year as long as I can.
Ohio State Fair must be one of the largest in the US. About 40 years ago, I attended another state fair at a larger state then OHIO. I was disappointed, it looked like our county fair. Don't go there unless you can spend a whole day on the grounds. Big entertainment comes there. In the winter time, it remains active with such attractions as ONE of the largest Quarter Horse Show in the Country. Many more attractions are available to keep you out of the SNOW in OHIO. I liked all of the Fair and Attractions and enjoyed the tractors pulling me around to save my shoes.
What's not to like about the State Fair??!!! Great food, awesome rides, wonderful exhibitions, animals galore, and it's a great time for all generations.
There is always fun things happening at the Fairgrounds. This weekend is the annual TWIG Bazaar, where you can purchase handmade crafts with all proceeds going to Nationwide Children's Hospital. Also, of course, the fair in the summer is the place to be -- for many reasons: rides, food (especially the food), animals, etc. I haven't been to the fair in a couple of years, but the concerts they have each year are amazing.
If you haven't been there you need to go.........this is the biggests horse show in the world and just keeps on growing
we go every year to the all american quarter horse congress and enjoy the show, however it seems every year the parking officers are rude. the parking ticket booths are usually friendly and okay.. this year we got a grumpy one. and the officers were rude when we were getting there in the rain storm and needed to get parked they were more worried about me getting the sticker on my truck then letting us get pulled over and parked so we could do it ... hard to get sticker to stick in the rain folks ! with a wet window ! duH ! not happy... fairgrounds needs to update the restrooms and keep them clean and facilites are old and dingy, need updated.... dissapointed in the concessions once again cox is expensive and not up to par...very disspointed in the closing of the corral lounge and all to offer for entertainment at night on the grounds was a tent with no where to dance and tables crowded around..... and it was out side so it was cold! ..... whos idea was that .... .it failed ! big time !
A little expensive for what it was, but flavorful treats all around. Won't go hungry there! Funnel cakes, fried everything, sweets, and drinks galore. Something for all ages and all stomachs!
