stehekin discovery bikes

Thank goodness for Discovery Bikes. One can rent them by the hour or by the day and even drop them off in Stehekin or at the Ranch. Good riding and good bikes.

We had such fun on the bikes! What's great about biking is there is maybe like 5 cars in Stehekin..lol! so you don't have to worry about crazy traffic, just listen for the shuttles. The bikes are easy to ride and have gears so if you need to adjust. We biked up to Stehekin Pastry, its mostly level elevation, nothing hard by any means. Seeing the views along the lake were just beautiful and ending it with a stop to eat just topped it off. My recommendation if you can: fly into Stehekin on Chelan Seaplanes 1st flight, immediately rent the bikes and set off to Stehekin Pastry and if you are pretty energetic ride up to Rainbow Falls (this part has a bit more incline), if you are a bit unsure take a leisurely ride back and just do the shuttle to Rainbow Falls-that's what we did, and get souvenirs before catching the Lady Express which leaves 1st and gets you back to Chelan by 3pm.

A great way to get around Stehekin is to rent bikes such as to go to Rainbow Falls, about 3 miles from Stehekin Landing. On the same trip we were interested in hiking the Agnes Gorge Trail so we were able to rent an ATV to get to the trail head that was about 12 miles from Stehekin. Lots of fun especially in a place that has so few cars.
