Very old cemetery that has many historical figures buried there. Medal of honor winners are here too. Many Confederate Veterans will be found her too.
If you want to take a walk back in time this is a great place to do it. Lots of old graves and beautiful trees.
A lovely place to visit if you like to explore history in a green and well-tended park-like atmosphere.
Walking or driving through the cemetery, you must stop and read some of the large plaques which record events that shaped our country from the 1700's onward. Read about Anna of Glasgow who followed her lover to this country when he fought in the revolutionary war or chronicle families who fought during the civil war. I is a lovely contemplative setting.
I grew up in Camden and have been there many times. If you like ambling through cemeteries and reading headstones, you will enjoy it. It's large enough that one can walk around for a couple of hours, easily. Like most East Coast cemeteries in towns as old as Camden, there are really old graves all the way up to and including recent ones. The next time I go will be more personal as a long time friend of mine since childhood died at age 50 last year and is buried there.
