This is an astounding place to visit. The four miles of beach is beautiful and not commercialized! There are many things to do, but also a great place to relax and enjoy nature and history. We actually stayed in the campgrounds and our campsite was only steps from the beach access. The campsites were spacious and well shaded with some sun. We camped here for a week and the only thing I would want to share with anyone with a large Class A RV, is that the twists and turns back to the camp sites are very narrow and not easy to maneuver. We did it with great care and it was truly worth it! Just be careful where you book your campsite.

Our campsite was one of the nicest we've had. It was very roomy. Our RV was easy to level. Each day we went to a different beach. They were all great.

Staying in or near Beaufort? This is a must see for nature lovers. Grat place for long walks. Beach front access, but watch the waves. Wonderful place fora picnic.

I loved this park. Coming in you pass by a marsh, which has lots of birds. It has a sidewalk you can walk to look at the birds. You may even see an alligator. Then after you enter the park, you can opt to tour Atalaya, a historical house based on a Spanish fort for an additional 2.00. Or you can go to the beach. The day I went, there were no beach goers, but I am sure on a sunny day, the beach is full. A great value at 5.00

My parents brought my brother and I here when we were just babies. We loved it then and now we are sharing it with our families. We went in August of 2014 and now going in May of this year. My favorite part is hunting for the sea shells and hermit crabs. Its quiet and the people are very friendly. My husband enjoys the fishing, we always usually catch a few sharks. The best place for a family vacation. I highly recommend.

Drove there from Hilton Head Island and the one hour drive was worth it. The drive from the entrance where the admission is $5/person is like driving through a tropical forest. The beach was full of shells and trees which have fallen throughout the years into the water make it a great photo site. The Lighthouse is manned by Park Volunteers who are very knowledgable about its History. For $2 you can climb to the top.The Park also has camping; fishing; marshlands; and hiking trails. A fun day and someplace we'd likely return to on our next trip this way.

If you want Myrtle Beach atmosphere with cabanas along the beach, you will hate this! This is a state park that has wildlife throughout. The beaches are not busy and not over-picked of seashells. Found sand dollars, shark teeth and just enjoyed every minute! The sea if just so breathtaking, South Carolina is beautiful

Last time I visited the park I only drove through it so I never truly experienced it for myself. After stopping by the visitor center, I walked up the Hunting Island Lighthouse and was marveled by the view at the top. The beach is really clean and well maintained for a tourist heavy area during the season. The coolest part of the beach to me is the many fallen trees that cover the leftside of the beach. Definitely one of the cooler beaches in SC.

We were fortunate to be guided to go there at low tide. When you walk out to the beach you will see many dead trees that have been washed over the bank into the water. They look like skeletons that you can walk amongst and photograph. At high tide they are in the water. Some relevant photos can be found on Flickr by googling "Walt K".

Loved the drive through " the jungle" to get to the beach which is beautiful. We walked and walked , the hurricane damage to the north end is fascinating, up rooted trees thrown all over the beach. Great place, I'm sure it is better is warmer weather, but loved it anyway.
