raylen vineyards

We visited RayLen on the last Saturday in February and we will try to return for what we think will be better views in the spring & fall. One of us tried the reds and one tried the sweet but they also have a white tasting as well. $6 for each tasting and you get to keep the glass. We really enjoyed our time with Fran who was full of advice about the area. We were visiting 3 other wineries that day so we only purchased one bottle each but we will purchase more of RayLen wines in the future. We plan to look on their website to attend one or more of their many special events. Next weekend is "Gumbo" weekend! We really felt at ease here, nothing stuffy about this place and worth a visit for any kind of wine lover. They also have cheese to purchase and a nice patio to enjoy it on.

Nice variety. Beautiful setting. Several tasting choices. Wines good, not too sweet. Sommelier is knowledgeable and helpful. Nice snacks.

I'm a big fan of RayLen. I bought some of their wines in the past at local grocery stores but did not gain a full appreciation for RayLen until I visited the winery during a festival. RayLen is between Bermuda Run and Mocksville (Davie County) off highway 158. Easy to find and you can get there via I40 as well (Farmington Road or Bermuda Run exits). Your GPS should have no problem getting you there.The vineyards and grounds are nice. It is not as picturesque as some other wineries around (say one by a certain race car driver), but the quality of the wine is better. Highly recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Category 5 (blend). Also like the Yadkin Gold. They are well known for their Category 5 so be sure to get a glass or bottle. It is on the expensive side ($18 - $21 per bottle), depending on where you buy it.Highly recommend stopping by RayLen to sample their wines. They have normal business hours and you don't need an appointment. Buy a bottle and enjoy it on the grounds. Also check out their website for upcoming festivals. I have been back several times to pick up a case of wine. Just to let you know, they don't have a restaurant but do have food for sell during the festivals.

Nice wines, great views and location, friendly and knowledgeable people. Particularly nice when there is music.

Beautiful vineyards. It was easy to find. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We tasted several wines and purchased our favorite.

This vineyard had a good selection of red and white wine for tasting, inexpensively, and most of them were wines that you would want to buy. Actually, we did buy a selection from here. We arrived on a Friday just as some other people were leaving. They actually allowed us to take in our dog, who sat quietly under the bar as we tasted the wine. She was allowed in as long as other customers didn't mind. The people here are very knowledgeable and made our visit interesting and very pleasant. It's quite a large vineyard but has a friendly family feel. We're looking forward to returning here again next year.
