not a fan of the races, but the entire complex is well maintained. They do have a tram for those who park in handicap, but they really could use a few more spaces.
Surrounded by great restaurants, casinos, event parks, soccer and baseball, and shopping, there is something for everyone here. The Speedway is great with excellent visibility. Plan ahead, and there are a lot of hotels nearby, but by race time, people are staying 15 miles away.If you are not there on a race day, there is always the opportunity to drive a race car on the track yourself.
I just want to report what a sight to see this is. There was no race but as a race fan even driving by and taking pics is pretty cool. The track looked amazing.
The race was awesome!!!! kickn myself in the butt for not staying for the whole weekend! when we go next time we are doing the full three days, one day just wasn't enough! The race goes by so slow on TV yet when you are there it flys by! The parking well was the only bummer, wish they had parking passes because it was like a mile to the speedway from where we had to park but hey what do you expect with 75,000 people! great experience doing it again in the spring and maybe every fall too! our family had a great time!
They call it the best guest experience. Well it is.I have been to Daytona and lately Charlotte. Now one of these is an ISC track the other isn't. I was a bit disappointed at Daytona I thought they should be somewhat run the same. Oh No!Daytona is Daytona HUGE venue HUGE track and the ego to go with it. I walked away feeling like the staff there was saying Eh big deal we are Daytona. WE ARE DAYTONA! OK but your fans are saying whatever!Kansas is flip side of the coin. From the ADA guys and the very visible security in the3 parking lots and campgrounds to the guest services giuy in the stands, I felt like they were happy I was there and I saw more times than not a Staff member stopping whatever they were doing to help a guest. Now there are the folks that take advantage of their system and they know it and will address the issue.THere is a No Smoking in the grand stands policy here, and if you text ANY issue to the numberon the card a REAL person responds back saying Oh My we will get that Porta Potty uprighted ASAP.. or WHere do you need a jump start.... Or I am sorry you lost your car where are you we have folks to help with that. This place is a nice track. Nice people who know their jobs..Price of Beer. Eh we will cover that another day.
We love our F1 so going to see NASCAR racing was an essential part of our route 66 journey even though it meant quite a large detour from our route. We read that it was a good idea to get there early to avoid the traffic, which we took a bit too literally I think, as we were one of the first cars to arrive before the sun had even risen. We had stayed the night before at the Capri Motel in Kansas City, don't do that under any circumstances as it's in a terrible part of the city. We hadn't slept at all so after a quick wander around the stalls outside the stadium we had a nice long sleep in the car! It's a bit of a trek to the stadium from the parking area, but it was sunny so quite a nice walk. I wanted to buy a t-shirt from outside but none of the stalls had sizes smaller than large (no comment!) the race was quite exciting, incredibly loud though, don't even remotely consider not using ear protection. There were plenty of minor crashes and several fights for the lead which made for a good race. The people are... Interesting... To say the least!! Very friendly though even the ones who looked a little scary. We weren't drinking as we had to drive back to Joplin after the race, but we did like that drinking was allowed in the stadium and people could bring their own rather than have to pay the inflated stadium prices. That's something we don't really see enough of in the UK. Overall a fantastic experience.
I have had Club seats since the inaugural race. I go to every race as well as one or two elsewhere. It is a great track. Not a bad seat in the house and great amenities. I wish they had more activities and vendors during the races to make it an even bigger event.
I loved the track. Everyone we met and dealt with at the track was great. Very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit and won't be the last!!!!Great seats!
Good view of track from multiple locations. Glad to be able to bring in own beverage now. The pit crew area and all their trailers was awesome.
First NASCAR event, and it was great! Free parking, bring in a cooler of you own beverages and food, go down on the track before the race. We were very surprised how fan friendly it was compared to a NFL game or MLB game. Ear plugs are a must, especially for smaller children, it is loud!
Been to this track 2 years in a row, and definitely will be back! The food and drinks are somewhat expensive but the experience is well worth it!
If you have an opportunity to visit this track I would do it. You have a great race view wherever you sit. The parking is free and the hospitality is wonderful. Its a 4hr drive from St. Louis and this was my second visit to this track for the Hollywood Casino 400. My friends pictured went with me went and we all had a great time. This was actually the first race for one of my friends and he had a blast( pictured in the middle) and he left with a new favorite driver Kyle Lawson. You don't have the over intoxicated knuckleheads with foul language to worry about. The staff at the track do a great job in helping out when needed. So if you want to have a god view of the track regardless of seating this is it.
Kansas Speedway is an awesome facility!! Even though there are a lot of people its stays really clean! Awesome place! The prices of things are extremely high but thats expected with a place like this!
With only 7 racetracks left of my Bucket list" of the NASCAR circuit, I had to ask myself "why did I wait so long to come here?" Arrive early to get a good parking spot; parking was not like other tracks where General Parking is much closer to the entrance & midway. Saw 2 drivers being interviewed (1 of these guys won the race!) which was exciting! Very clean for such a large facility.
Everyone visiting KC must find a race schedule and plan a trip to watch a race at the speedway. Where else can you tailgate, park for free, and take your own drinks in???
