Friday night racing is lots of fun! Watching the professional racers fly around the track made me hold my breath more than once. This track attracts people from around the world! > Insiders secret: Tuesday nights are FREE! Tuesdays are when the Junior and amateur racers compete. Not as much fanfare, but still lots of fun. The food is a little pricy and is ok. We like to bring our own food. The wine and beer is a nice touch! I'm not sure if the food is open on Tuesdays. If you live in the Valley you should go at least once!

we wish we had something like this near us! The center is great for cyclists and the neighboring Rodale park is gorgeous.

This is sort of bike Mecca for track/Velodrome racing. Nice outdoor track and stadium. Good food - organic burgers and cheap. Fun place to go and if you've never seen a bike race, the announcer explains much of what is happening.

A great facility! International racers from all over the world come here to compete. The racing and crowds are up beat and a good time for the family and kids. The velodrome also offers great programs for all ages and is home of the US's best riders! Friday night racing weekly through June , July and August! So lucky to have this place right in my backyard.

The racing is fast and furious, and the atmosphere is great expecially when they host the international events. It has a very European flair.

If you've never been to a velodrome, or have never watched bicycle races, you've got to come!On Friday evenings in the summer, you'll get to see nationally- and internationally-ranked cyclists take to the track. Get there early and grab a place along the track to get up-close and personal! It's a family-friendly time, as well a great place to take a date.Food and drink are available, and it's possible to rent the dining tents for group outings.

Amazing athletes and they're racing on tandems to boot! Admission is very minimal and their food is great!

We attended Pro Bicycle Racing at this facility, combined with the USCF Junior National Track Championships. The tickets were reasonable, $5 per adult for general admission. I joined the VPCC E-mail mailing list prior to traveling here and received a "buy one get one free" coupon for tickets for this event.Upon arriving, I was handed a free program that was very thorough and enabled me to follow the racing action. The announcer was humorous and explained everything, making the spectating very exciting. Probably the best feature is the ability to stand or sit anywhere around the track at the "boards" and get a close-up view of the action. The racing was fast and furious, and the crashes that occurred sure were spectacular. When we got hungry, the concession stand was certainly unique! It was run by the Rodale company (known for their many health/sport-related publications such as Bicycle Magazine, Prevention, etc). The food was organic and locally grown. While it was not cheap, it certainly was tasty!! Friday night racing is not the only time the velodrome is open. Tuesday nights and Saturdays also have exciting racing, and those events are 100% free. If you check the VPCC website prior to arriving there, you can even take your own bike in and give the track a go (just be sure to bring helmets, they are super-strict about this). In addition, directly across the street from the facility is the Bob Rodale Cycling & Fitness Park, where there are paved paths suitable for walking/jogging, rollerblading, and cycling, all out of traffic, and a great spot for the family. Has the largest sandbox I've seen in a public park!!
