We stopped by and were pleased to buy a few bottles of the great wine. Very cute inside too. The area was picture perfect.
This winery is located behind our home. The owners are great people. The barn that they converted into the store is great. Fixed up the bottom part of the barn into a great bar area for small functions. Tables to sit outside when the weather is warm. Great place to go with family and friends. Come try it you won't be disappointed.
Have visited Vynecrest Winery many times before and always enjoy the time spent here. Their wines are different that the usual cab or merlot so the change in taste is welcome. Sitting in the wine cellar and gazing at the vineyards and mountains is always a vacation even though home is not that far away. John, Jan and Sam are always friendly with a welcome greeting and smile. Looking forward to the next visit even while writing this review.
They offer free wine tastings, and have a decent selection of regular and seasonal wines. The tasting room was large and well-staffed to deal with 20 or so visitors. Our server was very pleasant and helpful. Downstairs, they have a small bar-type setting with indoor and outdoor seating. They offer wine by the glass or bottle, and a nice small fare menu (e.g. cheese and crackers).
My husband and I wanted to try wineries in the area since we have never been. We went to 4 different ones and this is our favorite one and have visited a few times and brought people over some other times! We love the wine, of course, the prices are good, the staff is very knowleadgeable about their product and the attention is excellent, always! I love the bar downstairs and the few appetizers they have are the perfect wine pairing. Only once we have coincide to go on the day they have live music and it was the best time, the other times they have no music playing, one time it was too quiet since we were the only ones there, but I used my phone for music. That would be the only thing I would improve in this place is to always have music playing!
Awesome little winery in the Lehigh Valley. Tried some of their wine at a local wine fest and decided to take a ride to visit! Try the DiVyne Red.
Visited this winery during a fall winery tasting, not on the trail, but just on our own. Very friendly and professional staff. Offered information about the wine and suggested tastings based upon your preference. Tastings are free. Found the wines here to be the better ones in the area. The red and Chambourcin are very good. Did not get to experience the downstairs bar area, but will next time. It looks comfortable and great place to sit as a couple or with friends and enjoy the view.
the wines here do punch above their weight; yes they rely mainly on hybrids as you'd expect (eg Vidal, Noiret, Traminette, Chambourcin) but they are made with skill and are very good examples; but they also successfully grow Pinot and Blaufrankisch and the examples we tried were impressively ripe and full bodied, so they must have good little microclimate site here - and a skilled winemaker. Very welcoming and relaxed tasting, and we free to explore the vineyards which I enjoy.
I went to this winery on the same day as two others. I wish I had gone here first. It was complimentary so I expected the worst. It was the best. The sparkling vidal was awesome!Wish I could have spent more time at this place and explore the bar, etc.
I've been here with a group of friends before but it was a while back and my husband and I were in the area celebrating our anniversary and just finding stuff to do. We had been up to Clover Hill where we apparently bothering them to share their wines with us. Whatever. We have plenty of choices in the Valley and up where we live in the Poconos here (two GREAT places up here FYI). We had someone who explained the wines a little to us (again unlike Clover Hell), was friendly, made us feel welcome, etc. The place has a cute downstairs area for snacks and sangria, wines, etc to hang with friends. We bought some wines and recovered from the rudeness down the road!
My husband, daughter, and I did part of the Lehigh Valley Wine Trail last weekend and my favorite winery of those we visited that day was Vynecrest. The young lady doing our tasting was very professional and answered all of our questions. The wines were good (we bought several bottles) and we look forward to visiting this winery again!
We really enjoyed our visit to vynecrest. They have great wine. You can taste for free but buy a bottle or two to take along. They have a cafe but we did not get eat there as we were there too early.
We always have a good time at Vynecrest as they have a cool wine cafe in the lower level where you can get a glass, or bottle, of wine to enjoy. Here thet offer some nice food items to enjoy while having your wine. Upstairs is the wine tasting area which can be easily accessed from the lower level.
First impressions. A clean, well organized showroom filled with many varieties of wines. Loved that they offered a 3 pack of Blush on special for I believe 24.00 which were packaged with pink labels and 1.00 goes toward Breast Cancer Research. Please note that she said they will offer 3 packs of different varieties closer to Christmas... Would make great gifts. Friendly staff offered to let us sample different wines. I asked about a sweet wine and she went over the sweet white wines they offered as well as the red. Bought a couple of Divyne Red, which is similar to a Concord. Very good taste. Would buy again. Another party with me bought the 3 pack as well. Easy to pull in and out of at this location. Staff mentioned that they recently opened a store on Main Street in downtown Kutztown. Would recommend trying this winery. Will go again.*please note that with most wineries, there could be a fee which is waived if you purchase a bottle of wine. The Divyne Red was 9.99/bottle.
Vynecrest Winery is one of our favorite wineries and one leg of what I like to call the "Golden Triangle" of PA wineries. Great place to relax with some of the best wines and friendly staff. The others which are all in close proximity and can be done all in one day are Pinnacle Ridge Winery, about 6-7 miles away and Blair Vineyards about another 3-4 miles from there. Visit these, and you won't be disappointed! A great sampling of what is being done at PA wineries. I will be writing a similar review of the other two.
