slick willy's karts & eats

Go-karts! Sounds fun, right? It can be, so long as you don't share the track with uber-competitive, Tony Stewart-wannabes who race like there's a few million dollars on the line...when in reality, the race ends and you go back to your ranch-covered French fries. If you're like me, you probably do stuff like this once every decade or so and just want to have some fun. Be warned, there is a sub-culture out there that takes go-karts as seriously as a heart attack. As you probably surmised, we had some of these 'winners' on our track, with their equally competitive (and likely abusive) dad looking on, judging his teenage children's performance, and resembling the master of the Cobra-Kai dojo. My wife, her brother, and I, on the other hand, were the bad news bears, who really just wanted to have a good time. We didn't...cause of these punks. So if you go, look out for the following: 1) People who bring their own helmets, 2) People who complain about their engine performance after a lap, 3) Cobra-Kai dads. Would this have been fun had these Mad Max rejects not shown up - most definitely. But I warn the readers about the potential to have their fun stolen, because at $20 a race, you could shell out some hard-earned cash and end up frustrated with a pain in your left shoulder blade.

My brothers have had a ride on their karts. it costs $20 a ride plus first-time drivers pay an additional $5 for "license". You need to register before you can ride and agree to drive at your own risk. Im so glad I didn't drive cuz they apparently didn't care that there was a driver on the track that crashed into some drivers and one of my brothers actually spinned on the track. apparently this is what it means 'drive at your own risk'...

This place is super cool and our group loved it - everyone is addicted to these karts!!! We had heard about this place from other people who visited, so we drove over an hour and it was worth the visit. The prices are great, the atmosphere is cool, and the racing was a blast.

I'm officially hooked on go-kart racing thanks to Slick Willy's. I visited Slick Willy's at The Works with some friends recently for the first time and had a blast! It was a busy Saturday night so we had to wait about an hour after we checked in but the racing was fast and lots of fun. I would highly recommend it!

Warning! This could be habit forming! Just went for the second time and it was much more fun actually racing against 4 others. My first time I was alone on the track and it was still exhilarating. Track configuration just changed a little, but racing against someone is more fun and can show you how to go faster. You can really feel the speed and 14 laps gives you enough time on the track. Noticed on my second race that day on another cart it felt a little different and had to adjust so i'm thinking it will be a constant challenge. Print outs let you see each lap speed. Rewarding experience!

I hve been to many karting places around the country and this place is by far the best......prices are cheap racing is awesome and the karts are just plain old fast!!! Never fails at slick willys to go and have a great time and get some quality laps !!!!!
