My scouts loved it. Artifacts, rocks and toys. This place is a little far from everything but worth the drive. Allow yourself some time because there is so much to see. NO MATTER YOUR AGE you are sure to find something to peak your interest or bring back a touching memory from times forgotten.
I highly recommend you stop. They have amazing collections of so many different things. I am a geology buff so I was blown away by the mineral specimens. I've never seen anything like it. So glad we stopped, considering bringing my students for a field trip.
What a great place! It's an unexpected find in Golden, and it is well worth the stop. There is such an extensive collection of glassware, Indian artifacts, minerals, etc. etc. etc. I could spend hours in here. The owner told me the new extension is going to be the best one yet. You should take the time to visit.
I loved the large mineral collections. Also the black lights on rocks and glass looked neat. This museum has everything.
Just happened to pick up a brochure in Eureka Springs before driving to Branson. So glad I did! This place is totally worth the time to see. We were there over an hour and could have stayed longer. Largest variety of Fenton glassware I've ever seen. Never seen so many arrowheads and other Indian artifacts. They must have so many extra arrowheads that they've recreated famous Western paintings using the extras. World's largest turquoise carving, carved in China from a 68 lbs. nugget. Quartz crystal, petrified 7 ft tall tree, mineral specimens from around the world, carnival glass, guns and ammo, etc, etc. More Americana collections than you can take in. Opens at 10:30. Hwy 86 and J in Golden, Missouri.
I hadn't been through golden in quite a while and was suprised to see a museum. My wife and I decided to check it out. We are glad we did, this place is cool. It took us a while to see the whole place. We both really enjoyed it. My wife has been telling other family members to check out out. It is definately worth stopping for.
Just happened on this museum and thought we would take a look-see. Were we ever surprised! Guns, arrowheads, money, dishes, Elvis, huge selection of rocks and boulders. Something for everyone in the group! We were impressed that so many people would work so hard at putting together these huge collections. Stop and take a look - its worth the stop! Then head up to Garcia's Mexican Restaurant in Shell Knob - nothing fancy but super tasty!
If you are a collecter or admirer of old glassware... you need to see this place! Everything was displayed beautifully and the lighting was perfect for photos & photography is welcome. I've never seen such a huge collection like this. It was amazing! Go check it out! There is no fee to get in but, they do ask for a donation. Very nice people!
This place is a gem hiding in the middle of nowhere. We were driving from Branson, Missouri to Rogers Arkansas, & stopped to get gasoline. Across the street is a building that didn't look too promising but called itself a museum. There was so much stuff inside, we didn't really get to see it all. There were giant quartz crystals, Native American artifacts, collections of military items, guns, baseball cards, coins, glass, dolls... 3 floors of things to look at. We were wowed & although there is no fee to get into the museum, they do have a donation box, so we donated $5 each. Go there if you get the chance.
