We were greeted by. Nice crowd for Wednesday night. Jessie's Smokin' NOLA food truck was outside but we stuck with the ale. The Missile Toad Winter Ale hit the spot on this cool evening. The White Ranch Wit was quite tasty also. This is a fun, no nonsense craft brewery that does not disappoint.
Good work Mountain Toad! The beer is great...white ranch wit is my personal favorite. They release a new small batch of beer every Thursday. The beer garden is always packed so come early if you want to snag a table for a group. One really nice touch is that the food trucks pull all the way in to the beer garden so you can sit and enjoy your beer and not have to wait for your food in a parking lot. The place is dog friendly and has a high volume of people who spent the day being CO active and stopped in for a beer on their way home so it has an upbeat feel rather than dreary bar atmosphere. The tap room bartenders are all friendly and acknowledge you even when they can't serve you immediately due to the popularity of the place. All in all, great place. Cheers mountain toad.
Some friends and I stopped by for an ipa. The ipa tasted flat. The restroom was a mess. Definitely not a brewery I would ever buy a beer from again. I don't think this place will be open or should I say stay open with the quality they serve. No go.
There isn't a better spot to enjoy a sunny afternoon in Golden than Mountain Toad Brewing. This local brewery has great beers, and the outdoor courtyard space is great. There are lots of tables, and they welcome well behaved dogs and children on leashes (ha!). Food trucks pull right into the courtyard, so you can enjoy some good eats along with their great beer. This place is tops, definitely worth the drive from Denver!
Have been here a couple of times and loved the atmosphere and beer. The amber and the IPA were outstanding! There is usually a food truck to suit your hunger needs. Kelly and Talli were the bartenders at the time and were very helpful and friendly! Hope to come back here more!!!
We sat outside on a Sunday afternoon with a family group (of which there appeared to be several - very family friendly place). It was pretty full, but people willingly offered to share tables, so not a problem. There is also no problem bringing in food from outside, and the bartender recommended D'Deli for sandwiches, which were first rate. All five adults liked the beers we chose, including one based on rye. The sun was pretty fierce by mid-afternoon and there was not much shade - take a hat!Good experience all around.
Went to Golden for the Coors brew tour (was just ok). Walked down main drag then saw sign for directory with Mountain Brewery. We literally followed our noses to the brewery. Small but cosy brewery. Sampled all the beer, and was pleasantly surprised. Looking for a solid craft beer in a good feel bar atmosphere.....if your in Golden it;s worth a stop.
The beer is good, the guys that own the place are working there and love to talk about their beer. My opinion is that the beer at Golden City Brewery is a little better, but here you get to sit inside. Nice place and the locals are very friendly and engaging.
On a recent motorcycle trip through Colorado, we happened upon Mountain Toad, a newly opened brewery featuring craft beers. It was a welcome break from our travels. We ordered the sampler and found all the beers to be more than satisfactory. A few stood out: 1) The Summer Hop, one of Mountain Toad's seasonal beers. It's like an IPA, only with some sweetness to balance the bitterness of the hops. Even my wife, who normally despises extremely hoppy beer, enjoyed it. 2) The Apex amber: very smooth and drinkable with perfect carbonation. 3) Best of all, the Ryrish Stout. This is perhaps the best stout I've ever tasted, certainly rivaling one of my favorites, the Yeti. No food was served on the afternoon when we were there, but according to patrons and the help, there are frequent visits from food trucks. Outside, there is a beer garden, and inside, paintings by a local artist provide atmosphere.
We visited Mountain Toad one afternoon after a long hike earlier in the day. We tried their IPA (my favorite), the Wit (my sister's favorite) and the amber. Delicious! The food truck wasn't in the beergarden, so we had some Toad Snax which were very welcome. I'd definitely recommend a visit to the MTB when in Golden.
