The facility is rather small but the displays are well laid out. The staff are very friendly, polite and knowledgeable. The book store is well stocked with books on a variety of topics. The Velociraptor claw was very interesting! The staff are willing to engage and exchange questions whether you're a creationist, an evolutionist, or a skeptic. Stop by, get a cup of coffee and ask a few questions, you might learn something.
I took my second grade class to the Creation Museum last year. The children were thrilled with the excellent artifacts, video presentation, the fun, articulate, and engaging speakers, and the marvelous books, videos, and toys available for purchase at a great price. I'm taking out-of-town visitors with this year. The unimposing building holds lots of surprises inside.
This is a small museum, but run by very knowledgeable guides. The fossils and replicas are very interesting. The price is right ~~ free. A nice book store is also on the premise.
This place is wonderful. No matter whether you are a creationist or an evolutionist, Christian or atheist, this is a great museum to see. They have actual as well as recreations of fossils, they have displays and diagrams showing how the same evidence is used for both creationists and evolutionists and is just interpreted differently. They have some things which evolutionists have no explanation for (other than to call it a hoax), like fossilized footprints of dinosaurs and humans in the same piece of former mud or fossilized miners' hats. They have people on hand who can explain things to you and they have a video showing as well about how many dragon myths could be directly linked to various types of dinosaurs.
The museum does little to support creationism. Displays are poorly described. The centerpiece of the museum is a depiction of a limestone cave. Perhaps the gist of it is that caves can be formed in less than 6000 years, perhaps not. It is impossible to tell. Descriptions of fossils and other artifacts are also poorly described. They were playing a DVD which told how the biblical flood inundated the world and caused dinosaur remains to be fossilized, but why stop in a museum to watch a DVD? Well, the price is right, free with donations accepted. It is not far from the interstate, so little time lost.
