I had the good fortune to stumble upon the Starlight a couple weeks after it opened in October 2011. The owners also run the Southbound Cafe next door, which I recommend for breakfast. They're great supporters of local music and very friendly. The decor reminded me of 50's Miami Beach and their house cocktails were excellent (they even converted me to martinis, which had never occurred during my nearly 30 years of drinking...) I understand they serve food now, too. Check it out; they're great people and this spot is an absolute gem in Hattiesburg.
