Love this place! Some of the best beer in CT. Small brewery but has some great flavors. The coffee stout is a staple and their Imperial stout (small batch series) was out of the park

The staff were extremely knowledgable regarding the products. I would recommend to other beer aficionados.

Went with friends for a brewery tour and tasting. Started with sampling some of the beer before the tour started. A pint of my choice was poured to take with me on the tour. Tour was very good, included the brewery's history, the process of brewing the beer and a discussion about the different styles of beer they offer. Also learned the brewery will be expanding into a much larger space in the spring. Looking forward to their grand opening!

Five of us went for a tasting and to purchase a growler for my daughter who collects them. When we first arrived it was really crowded as many were waiting to go on the tour. I a short time the tasting room pretty much cleared out which allowed us to now do some tastings. They have about seven different beers to choose from with a nice selection depending on one's own choice. Nice place but could be larger. I hope that they will expand in the future.They offer tours that we didn't take advantage of.Give it a try I think that you'll like it

I saw Thimble Islands Brewing Co. on CT beer trail's website and wanted to stop in. My friends and I arrived right in time for the 12pm tour with the brewmaster Ben. He told us about the brewery's history, the beer styles and their expansion to a bigger building next door so they can brew more great beer!! The beers were very good, samples were generous. My favorites were the American Ale and Ghost Island Double IPA. I look forward to returning to visit their new location.

Stopped in today again. Lots of great choices of beer ranging from American Ale to Ghost Island Double IPA. Lots of great flavors to choose from. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. Very affordable beer too.

I saw this on Groupon and decided to try it with 2 of our friends. It's a small place off the beaten path, but we were told they are building a newer, larger building next door since they are growing. We got a tour of the back room and Ben did a great job presenting the information to us. He was very funny. The beers were good and the samples were good sized. My only negative was that we had our two growlers filled and asked for the American Ale. When we got home, we realized they had been filled with the IPA. There was a large crowd there, so I would suggest speaking loudly since I don't think the servers heard us clearly. Other than that, it was fun!

We went to Thimble Islands Brewing Company with friends who had been there previously and raved about the experience. We received a generous portion of each of their beers on draft. We then chose to purchase a "growler" full of our favorite, which is a hefty gallon sized jug and can be refilled for a very low price. We got Chinese take out, brought our growler to our deck, and had one of the most economical and enjoyable evenings out with friends ever.

Over the July 4th weekend, My parents, girlfriend and I planned to go on the boat tour of the Thimble islands. The line was long and we had heard that there was a brewery right by the dock, so we decided to look for the brewery. Our smart phones brought up Thimble Islands Brewing. Even though it wasn't right by the dock for the boat, it was close by. By chance, we arrived right at the 12:00 opening and were the first people to start the beer tasting for the day. Three other groups came in shortly after us, but we still chatted with the man behind the bar, who was knowledgeable and happy to talk. We got to hear about Star Trek, comic books and beer. We also chatted with a couple that arrived shortly after us, who were also originally from the Midwest. They let us know that there were really three boats that took folks on tours and encouraged us to head back for the tour - which we did after the tasting. All in all a great experience. Decent pours of good beer. My girlfriend like the Coffee Stout best, but my dad and I thought the American Ale was our favorite. We were happy with the experience and will search out the beer in New Haven bars.
