We spent a little over an hour here looking at all the tractors. They also have a nice collection of trucks, cars, soda bottles, and cigarette memorabilia. The boyfriend was impressed by all of the equipment while I was impressed with how clean everything was. Definitely worth the $8 admission price. Easily located right off 95.
I took my 8 year old Grandson. He was bored. I was fascinated. More tractors than I really expected and pleasantly surprised at the range of models. Well kept local secret?
Awesome experience for the whole family. Friendly and knowledgable staff. Great gift shop. And of course tons of tractors and other historical autos. Can't wait to visit again!
If you love tractors this is your museum. The array of tractors, trucks, and other equipment from the past will astound you. Well lit and spacious the building houses an impressive display of equipment and a gift shop. Very convenient to interstate 95 as well as restaurants and other attractions in nearby Petersburg.
I really like all things to do with engines and vehicles. Searching on-line for another museum we chanced across "Keystone Tractor Works". A strange name, but easy to find and certainly worth every minute of your time. All the displays are in as new condition and include many tractors that are very unusual and not often seen anywhere else. The commercial vehicles are similarly as well displayed and seem to be immaculate. My partner seemed to enjoy the visit as much as I did, well, she said she did (?)
Recently my girlfriend and I took a trip here as an anniversary present and I really enjoyed it. The amount of tractors in the museum made the little drive and the cost well worth it. I saw some things that looked familiar and some that I had never seen or even heard of. Also once you get through the tractors they have a section for trucks as well. For those who are not so savy with tractors and otherwise they do have signs explaining what you are looking at and even information on why it is important. decorations also lined the walls to give an overall "old school" feel to the museum. If you like tractors or just motors in general this is a must see, also these people were at Feild Days of the Past this year (2013)
Since my retirement, I regularly set aside time to visit attractions, historical sites, and museums in my local area. I saw the Keystone Truck and Tractor Museum in a local brochure. It is the most comprehensive collection of tractors I have ever seen anywhere. There are literally hundreds of farm tractors of every make, model, and size that were every made in America. Additionally, the museum also has an impressive number of antique trucks fire apparatus and specialty vehicles. All the exhibits are inside a huge, brightly illuminated building. All the tractors and trucks are brightly painted in their original colors and from their appearance, I think they all have been restored to operating condition. You can take photographs of the vehicles. It is a wonderful place for children. Be prepared to spend a couple of hours leisurely strolling down aisle after aisle of tractors, trucks, and cars. There is a large gift shop with an endless variety of collectibles, books, toys, and clothes. The $8.00 adult admission was well worth the visit. There are a variety of admission discounts available, i.e., military, seniors, etc. I was there in June and the building was not air-conditioned but that did not detract from the excitement. There is plenty of parking at the side of the building. I very impressed with the museum and I highly recommend it.
I took my friends 2 young sons there. They had never seen so many tractors and trucks. They did have a small area where kids could climb on something and they had a gift shop with reasonably priced items.
What a massive collection. Kids also had a great time looking at all the differnt collections(oil cans)trucks.
My family is very interested in old tractors - so when we decided to head to VA for vacation this year we checked to see if there was any place to visit and found this. Perfect place to go on a rainy vacation day. Very large assortment of different makes and models of old tractors - all restored. There is also some restored old fire trucks, cars and trucks. Nice gift shop with items related to tractors, without the "jacked up" prices of most gift shops. Staff was very pleasant - son wanted to take some engine pictures of a tractor, explained his request to staff, asked if someone could remove the engine cover and staff removed cover and even checked with son to make sure he had the pictures he wanted. Free ample parking, small admission fee.
If you like tractors, or want to learn about machinery. There are well-documented restaored stock from John Deere, Case, Waterloo Boy, Ford. Some advertising also vintage trucks and a few cars. Nice gift shop with all things related to tractors.
this is a unique visit because it is about tractors. Most are of the modern day, but each are restored to new condition. there is also a photo op tractor that you can sit on and move the levers and get your picture taken. there is also a display of old trucks, cars, and fire trucks. the displays I like the best though is the Indian motorcycle, and they even have a homemade Indian tractor. It is well worth the entrance fee and convenient to I-95.
Keystone Tractor Museum is a too well-kept secret. We went the first weekend it was opened and our grandsons were delighted with it...as were the 4 adults in the group. The same weekend there was a classic car show in one wing of the facility which we also enjoyed. The collection is huge, nicely restored, and historically important. I just wish more folks would take advantage of the opportunity to visit this unique exhibit. I understand that there is now a cafe where visitors can have a snack. The gift shop is neat and the RC Cola went down a treat.
We made the trip to Colonial Heights to take my 82 year old father to see the tractors. He could have not ben more thrilled. They had tractors he had never seen or heard of, I truly didn't think there was such a thing! The tractors are in show quality condition and the facility is spotless. The maintenance person was continually roaming cleaning and was very willing to answer any questions. Very enjoyable time.
If your passion is old tractors and trucks with some classic cars and farm implements thrown in for good measure, then this is the place for you. The 65,000 sq foot museum houses a FABULOUS and incredibly complete collection of American farm tractors from the 20th century, all beautifully restored to both running condition and original paint and trim. In addition, there is a very nice collection of equally perfect American early to late 20th century commercial and fire trucks, including national 1st place winning restorations such as an REO Speed Wagon with gorgeous restored chrome. The gift shop sells all things tractor and truck, a great place for gifts for children. And nostalgic ICE COLD glass bottle Nehi's and RC Colas are sold out of an the old-fashioned reach-down ice chest cooler just like the old days. Directly off I-95. Many restaurants of all types nearby.
