The guides know a lot about the history of Bell Boyd and also Front Royal in general. We visited for free during the Festival of Leaves in October.

Belle Boyd is a fascinating lady and the Docent brought her to life for us. She walked us through Belle's life during and after the Civil War. We enjoyed the tour through the house.

Being a huge CW history buff, I just had to visit this house and learn more on one of a few women spies from this era! We stumbled upon the house while taking the walking tour of Front Royal. The house has been relocated from its original site to its current location. A very adorable and large home with simple gardens surrounding it. We would have loved to have gone inside and toured, but it wasn't open even though we were there during their visiting hours. It was disappointing. If I make it back to the area again, I will give it another try!

The house isn't much but the lady who showed us around was really interesting and informative. Well worth the $3.

The history of this individual is unique and goes beyond the civil war period. The home and landscaping downtown is much like a Williamsburg conservation and design. The artifacts are many and the stories displayed are very interesting. Well done.

My wife and I enjoyed our visit to Belle Boyd Cottage. Our guide was very interesting and knowledgable about Belle Boyd and the house. Her enthusiasm for the topic was very evident and she took the time to answer all our questions. The tour took about an hour. The only disappointment was that the house doesn't contain any original Belle Boyd artifacts - it has nice period pieces, but that's it. Overall, the Belle Boyd cottage is worth a visit. It's good value and Belle Boyd's story is a fascinating one.

The docent was very informative about the history of both Belle Boyd and her part in the Civil War. Even though the furnishings are replicas, they were very well done.

It is one of the oldest houses in Front Royal. The staff was very friendly when we toured the house. The history and stories that go with it are very interesting. Many Civil War officers had meeting here.
