The rides are far apart. Lots of standing and waiting in line. The shows were the best part! Wear sunscreen.
It was over 100+ degrees. There was absolutely nothing to do other than ride roller coasters. Which there was one in each "country" and took forever to get to. Then when it had signs of rain, when we already had nothing to do, they shut the rides down due to a storm moving in (which never did) so we left and went back to the hotel. Just not worth the time or money, in my opinion.
The visuals were great. The rides were ok. The walk was ridiculous....I've never been to an amusement park with SO many hills!! If like a good work-out while trying to get to the next ride.... This IS your place. If not, and just want a smooth stroll to your next adventure..... DON'T GO HERE!!
This is the BEST amusement park I have ever gone to. The roller coasters are simply awesome! The food is wonderful and to enjoy the water rides, go between April and August (if it is hot out). My whole family loved it and we had a wonderful time. So for me, this is the BEST PARK EVER!!
Great scenery and many thrilling fun rides. I been to 2 Six Flags, Kings Dominion, Dollywood, and the other Busch Gardens but this one might as well be my favorite! Great experience!
Went to see the Christmas light display the second week in December. I have to admit, although they are very efficient, I was a little overwhelmed by the crowds. To add to the stress of the crowds the Chistmas music was being played at an anything but a relaxing volume. The light displays are beautiful, but I was so happy to leave and get away from the crowds and music.
I reserved one of my timeshare weeks at Westgate Williamsburg in June of 2014. we planned this trip around our grand sons 8th birthday. we bought a weeks pass for the Busch Gardens amusement park and visited every day we were there. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. The resort was awesome as we had a 2 bedroom suite on the ground floor that walked out to the pool. The park was widely layed out so there is a lot of walking.
Busch Gardens is a lovely theme park - many trees and flowers. It feels very outdoorsy. Even if you don't have any interest in the rides, the walk and scenery is worth the visit. They also have excellent food. The turkey at the FestHaus is wonderful. The peppermint hot chocolate at Christmas Town is fabulous. The buffets in Ireland are good, but a bit expensive - you are paying for the entertainment. The Santa Fireside Feast is a wonderful experience for children young and old. The food is good and Santa is REALLY, TRULY the honest to goodness North Pole Santa. He will touch your heart in a way that absolutely convinces you that he is the real Santa! Mrs. Santa is also wonderful and bakes fabulous cakes and cookies. If you go during Christmas, the lights are unbelievable. Warning - the roller coaster rides are not Disney rides. These roller coasters are thrill rides, not for anyone with a health issue or concern.WARNING: Howl - o- Scream in the past was not overwhelming. In 2014 the theme was Jack the Ripper. My family found it very offensive. The stage shows represented women being brutally attacked, raped, and killed. We did not think it was appropriate or in good taste. This represented a real crime committed against women years ago. It should not be used for entertainment. We are curious to see how How- O- Scream is presented in 2015.
Our visit to this multi-themed park with its different "countries", exciting rides, and other entertaining features was truly memorable. I will always remember the thrill of the Loch Ness Monster and being near those great Clydesdale horses. The food is great. The entire experience was outstanding.
There was something for everyone from rides to shows. We saw Celtic Fyre, and of course spent most of our time running from ride to ride. Das Festus was our favorite place to eat. I highly recommend the dining deal and the refillable cup. We went to a bunch of places around Williamsburg due to the Flex Ticket. Which if you are staying in the area for longer than 4 days, it is worth every penny!
