The Palace is a historic theater of days gone by. The plays are, however, up to date with some spectacular performances by talented locals and amateurs. One can enjoy wine and snacks at intermission for reasonable prices. Visitors really seem to enjoy this quaint adventure.

The Palace is fantastic and we are lucky to have such a great establishment in Georgetown. We have been several times to see many different plays and musicals, all of which get better and better each time. The cast is always so good and the production crew does a fabulous job with the costumes, and props, and the band also does a wonderful job. If you are passing through definitely come by, if you live here and have never been you should definitely go! Something for all ages!

We have been going to see live shows at the Palace for the last 7+ years. Just saw "The Best Little Wh" house in Texas". Loved it. All of their shows are terrific. Acting, sets, choreography, singing all terrific. The theater is comfortable, never had a bad seat & historic too. The help is great & so many of them are volunteers who love being there.

We've been to dozens of events and plays at the Palace. For a city the size of Georgetown, it is very, very good. Of course, just as on Broadway in NYC, the Play is the Thing and some are better than others. We've never sat through a bad one. Our grandchildren have attended summer theater camp there for the past few summers and they LOVE it. We do too.

Mostly musical plays. No bad seats and decent performers, mostly local. Tickets are reasonable and entertainment well worth the price.

This is a perfect fit for a small town. Beautifully restored, seating comfy. Tickets reasonably priced, easy to purchased online or at the theater.Lovely setting on the Georgetown Square, walking distance to 5 restaurants,

Small, intimate theater. Seating is comfortable, with not a bad seat in the house. Concessions are minimal, but "adult beverages" are available!

We have supported community theaters elsewhere, one having largely retired Broadway and world class actors, dancers, and singers. The Palace tops those, perhaps because it draws talent from such a large Austin area pool of former top professionals . The theater is excellent, as are the acoustics, staging and props, with fine seating for everyone (but no center aisle). The ticketing process is the best we've seen--season tickets for various numbers of seats with shows to be chosen later; preselection of seats and online ticketing. The restrooms and bar in this converted landmark Art Deco movie theater are inadequate.

Love the Palace. Every play we've been to has been wonderful. Wonderful talented people with lots of local support. Everyone who visits or lives in Georgetown should support the Palace.

I wasn't really interested in this show...I am not into male strippers, but my wife got "cabaret seating" for the edited version of the show...and we almost always enjoy the Palace Theatre. To my surprise, the show was FANTASTIC! The acting, singing, dancing, choreography, set design...they all combined to make a truly riveting show.

We saw the Buddy Holly story at the Palace this weekend. It was a good show musically. However, the "acting" portions needed a little work. It just didn't seem to flow during the speaking portions of the performance. They seemed a bit awkward at times...almost like the actors had forgotten their lines and didn't know what to say. The music was great and each performer definitely had the voice to do their part! The Palace is a nice theater but they could definitely do something to remedy the ladies restroom situation. As with most places, there are very limited restroom facilities which made it a waiting game. They did hold the show at intermission until everyone had had the chance to go which was nice.

I use a wheelchair and was thrilled that the theater is so accessible! The back row seat was still good enough to see the action and hear everything that was said. The last time we went I was overwhelmed by the loudness of the music and had to leave mid-way through. That was an unusual experience for the theater though and since then we've enjoyed many a show. It's definitely worth going to see nearly all of their shows.

I've been to several plays here and they have all been top notch! Nice, historic theater in the beautiful Georgetown downtown.

This restored, Art - Deco style theatre is a great community theatre experience, drawing VERY talented performers from Georgetown, and Austin. We've seen 5 shows there in the last 2 years, and each one has been very good -- even great. All the shows have had wonderful singers and dancers, and some very fine actors, too. --- GUYS & Dolls (June 2014) had fantastic dancing and singing - we loved the costumes. Seating in 1930s -era , but new Red velvet seating is a little tight, but getting an aisle seat helps. My only complaint is that the theatre has a very small "Ladies Room", and you have to wait a long time at intermission. I remind myself that the actors must be working with a very small backstage area as well, so... I can overlook that. Perhaps the theater could get some more space in an adjoining building. There is a large "senior" audience, but its great for all ages. I hope they have another Holiday show this year (Miracle on 34th Street was wonderful! ) / they offer snacks, candy, water and soft drinks for purchase -- just $1.

This is a great community theater. Enjoyed the old style theater with the velvet seats. It is a small intimate venue, so it is easy to see. I would say the best seats are from row D to J. They have a good line up of shows. My mom really enjoyed the event, they do cater to seniors. There is a rail along the steps going into the theater which it much easier for many navigating the stairs. There are a few snacks available - an assortments of the 8 ounce cokes and individual bags of pretzels and goldfish. Most items were a dollar each.We will be going back.
