We went on a walk to rainbow lake and it was a fun trail. People walk their dogs along the trails and go jogging on main path by road.

This is a nice short walk off the top of second street that takes you back up into the woods. Patch can get crowded on holiday weekends as it is also part of the MTB trail that runs from Frisco to Breck.

This is a nice, short hike that's great to take in any season. Columbines in the spring and summer. Golden aspens in the fall. Deep soft snow most of the winter. And always lots of folks with happy dogs.

A short 1-mile hike on terrain that is not too steep, takes you to a lovely little lake. Some have seen moose there but all we encountered was a happy golden retriever chasing a ball into the water. It's lovely on a fall hike--easy enough for all ages.

Being 4 months pregnant I was nervous to take on a hike that would become too tough. This was easy on the way up and down. We saw a moose once we got up! It was so amazing! There were a bunch of little kids and grandparents there too. Just proves this to be a good family hike. I would definitely recommend this hike to anyone.

We found this hike on the Frisco City website. The trailhead starts right at the end of town, and easy to get to. The trail pretty easy (we did about 2.25 miles out and then back), and the scenery was absolutely beautiful! The aspens and the pines were just breathtaking. We hiked up to the lake (which was smaller than we thought - but still very pretty), and let our dog play with some of the other dogs at the lake - retrieving sticks after we would throw them in. Then we continued on for another mile and a half, or so. Our dog had a BLAST! (It definitely wore her out!) It's also a great trail for families and small children because it's a fairly easy hike. We saw lots of young families on the trail. There IS parking at the trailhead, but we couldn't get to it because 2nd Ave. was under construction, but we were able to park in the neighborhood and walk over.

This trail was well marked and maintained. A nice easy hike with beautiful scenery and a great swim for the dog midway!

Not much to say. This is an easy one for the family. We parked in downtown Frisco and walked to the trailhead. It was easy and we have a 5 year old girl with not a lot of stamina. I wouldn't seek this trail when there are so many in the region, but it was perfect for us wanting to kill some time in Frisco.

We didn't take the hike in 2014 (too busy exploring new things), but we were a little sad about that. The lake is an easy 1 mile hike up a gentle grade. The lake is pristine. Glassy. Smooth. Great photo opp's for reflective-type pictures. Our kids love doing this hike. Next year, we will make time to do it. Pay attention to the beaver lodges if they are there; beavers can be spotted swimming to/from the lodges. Finish the day with a stroll through downtown Frisco. Tip: Park at the end of second street.

This is a great hike either for beginners or families with young children. It is about 3/4 mile from the trail head (off of 2nd Ave) to the lake (or 1.5 miles round trip). You hike through beautiful aspen trees and across snow melt creeks. The trail is well marked and maintained with a boardwalk across the wetlands at the beginning and logs placed down on the muddy parts. Rainbow lake is gorgeous. There were many families there and some with retrievers playing fetch in the cold water. This trail is part of the peak to peak trail so you can increase the length by continuing on in either direction.
