The park has very nice nature trails to walk all year round. It is not a huge park but is great for getting outside for a couple hours. They also do free rentals for snow shoes and cross country skis which is pretty neat.

The Robert Moses State park is next door to Massena where you can find good shopping and lots of activities an also wonderfull people.And if you want a little more luxary try Massena International Kampground and Brenda , the owner, will welcome you and will try to accomodate you. The State Park is rustic with electricity plugin only and you have to fill you holding water tank but they have a beach and it's very clean and you feel at home with the staff and at the Massena International Kampground has full hookups 30A,50A and has a pool and a activity buiding for meals and lindancing. What ever you do it's a win, win combonation. And you're only an hour and 40 minutes from Ottawa/Gatineau.

We frequently visit the park. In the early evening you can see many deer eating close to the road. We once counted 73 while we drove on Barnhart Island.

Amazing sunsets on the St.Lawrence..a lot of history it is worth the stop to power dam too. My family owned a farm near the marina so this area has history for me.

Spent the last two weeks of August in one of the cabins with friends. Had a great time. Diverse wildlife (deer, fox, racoons, wild turkeys, chipmunks, coydog (cross between a coyote and a dog), geese, hummingbirds. The deer were out every evening at dusk ...feeding. We would just drive through the park and watch them. They were not timid at all. Other attractions around the park are great (beach, picnic area, fire pits, Eisenhower lock, shopping etc.) Will probably go back next year for vacation.

Free access for seniors 62+ like all state parks. Not far from parking to water, and not very crowded in afternoon. Showers were clean, with soap and warm water. BBQ picnic areas, boardwalks good for walking, and has a pitch & putt golf course. Many deer and rabbits seen in the evening.

I love this beach, its very clean and the staff is very friendly. I go almost every weekend with my family the whole summer. Very nice beach

Last week we attended a family reunion of about 100 people. It was held in the Gazebo at the Beach at Robert Moses State Park. What a lovely place! Great view of water and beach and trees; fabulous nearby clean restrooms, and the Gazebo was huge! All of us fit underneath in its shade. Tables were provided (picnic tables, no chairs needed). Parking was nearby; for dropping off the coolers and stuff, you can drive right up. Once settled, it's like being in your own wonderful world surrounded by friends and family and Nature. Signage around the park was not too effective, and several of our party were lost for quite a while; wasn't quite sure where to find the visitor center, or rather, we thought we saw it but it was so far off the road that we weren't sure; no park maps available, and even the website doesn't identify much other than the roads and general location of restrooms.

Cabins were a nice size with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen (with table), Living room (with 2 sofas & 1 chair), deck (with 2 chairs), picnic table, fire pit & grill. Don't forget to bring memory foam for single beds or put two beds (in each room) together. They are not comfortable. Also very hot in summer months (bring a couple of fans). Located on St. Lawrence River (bring Kayaks if you own). Staff on top of taking garbage away & very helpful & dogs are allowed. Hannafords food store & Bj's are near by. Also great to see is Eisenhower Locks (make sure to call for times of large ships going through). Bugs come out at dusk so stay inside or screen house then safe to sit at fire pit around 9pm. Things to bring that you may not think of, bug swatter/spray, sponge/dish soap/dish towels, wet ones, tablecloth, swifter duster (they have broom/pan). Highly recommend staying here.

I have been to New York State campgrounds all over NY and this is one of the best. We rented 3 cabins for my family for a week, a bargain at $400. Located close to water, a few hundred feet for bring kayaks. Can even beach a small motor boat(we did) but be careful, as water is very shallow for a couple of hundred feet. Many amenities close by, the most 15 minutes, including shopping, casino, drive in movie. First time I did not have to drive all over the place and loved it.Park has a nice beach, although you have to drive from cabins and part of campsite area. Nice visitor centers for a big power dam and Eisenhower Lock. Pretty cool seeing big ships pass through. Loved the place and would go back, even with 8 hour drive from NYC.

After driving 500 miles exhausted trying to find the registration office in the park a young sarcastic policeman turns on his flashers. What a way to welcome the elderly unwilling to listen to what we were explaining to him issues a hefty ticket need I say more. I will not recommend this park or town to my friends for vacationing due to his unwelcoming mannerism and his sarcasism. After driving threw the town I would hope the young sacarstic police officer learns to be a better listener and use better judgement than his ego. This town needs tourists for revenue so learn to treat the elderly better. Out of staters are not welcomed and are targeted.

Great campground. Awesome water sites but there are just a few so ask for them. From our site 49E we could see the large cargo ships past by. Large grass lawns under a tree canopy. Lots of space between sites. Very cool. Clean rest rooms and free hot showers. Good place to bike too.

The beach is beautiful and unique. We walked for quite a way and finally settled fairly close to the huge war memorial. The sand was blistering white and the shells were gigantic. There is something akin to a sandbar which allows to you walk quite a ways out. Also, in between the beach and the sandbar was a small shallow area with no waves that is better for smaller kids. This is also where a lot of the really cool shells tended to get stuck. There is a cliff-looking drop off of sand, then more beach, then water. This 4-foot or so "cliff" is very interesting looking - seems from a distance like rock, but it's just sand that will brush away with a stroke of your hand. We went on a Saturday, but traffic was tolerable and the beach was not horribly crowded. It seemed fairly family-friendly.

Something for everyone. Has plenty of campsites for RVs and tenting. Boat launches, beautiful beach, fish the st Lawrence river for bass. Northern pike, walleye, perch. Watch ships sail the river or visit the seaway locks to watch ships go through the locks. NY Power dam is viewable with a visitors center full of information with an educational cinema. Towards dusk drive the park to view plenty of white tail deer feeding along the roadside.

We camp at Robert Moses state park several times a year. It is like a completely different world, it is peaceful and quiet and the campsites are well taken care of. Bathrooms and showers are immaculate and grounds and beach is clean. If you forget anything, you can easily go to Walmart in less than 15 mins or the Hannaford Grocery Store, 6-7 min drive to pick up whatever you need. The campsites are big and there is a lot of privacy between campsites, especially at Long Sault. Nice for biking and hiking. Lots of wildlife, birds, gophers, fox and fish can be seen everywhere. The campground is like our little haven, allows us to just kick back and relax.
