Loved the presentation video and I felt prepared. Brian was very informative and patient with our many questions.

Machines are in good shape although the razor needs a bit of simple tuning. The trails are good as far as this beginner knows and the run excellent. The side by sides are far more comfortable than the two ups and a lot of fun. Makes you want to go baha'ing. The side by side is going to be the purchase of choice. Well, one more run in three weeks to confirm :-)

We rented three UTV's for a half day guided ride since we were new to the area. Our guide took us on some awesome trails, everything from gravel roads, thick vegetation, rocks, and running creek beds. We have ATV's of our own and have rented ATV's and UTV's in many states and this was the best trails and guide we have ever experienced. Be prepared to have a $1,000 per machine charge put on your credit card to cover the damage deposit. It will be credited within three days but when you rent three machines that is $3,000. The equipment was in good condition, especially considering the trails they are used on. Many of the other places we have been keep you on graded trails, private land or driving through fields, They let you run as fast as your comfortable as long as you show you know how to handle the vehicles. We spent a week in Maine with most of that time in Acadia, Bar Harbor area and this was the best part of the week. It is about 2 1/2 hours away but well worth the drive. They even set us up with showers, soap, and towels after the ride. Since it became a challenge to see who could get the wettest and dirtiest that was a life saver for the ride back to the coast. Bring dry clothes and prepare for some of the best trails you will ever ride. We plan to stay a few days at the lodge next time so we can see more great trails.

Very efficient and friendly service. Couldn't fault this company at all. Would defiantly recommend this company and use them when we come back to the forks!!!

A few weeks ago I was invited to go to The Forks to raft at Northern Outdoors with my friend. While there we heard about the guided ATV tours and decided to check them out the next day. I’ve been on sport ATV's before, but never side by sides and was really excited to see what they were all about. Brian and Rachel were our guides and brought us through a variety of trials (in the woods and up dirt roads), past Lake Moxie, Greenville, and Moosehead Lake. Not only was the scenery beautiful, but the ride was such a blast. You will definitely get wet and muddy, but it’s totally worth it! The side by sides are honestly really comfortable, and even though they go fast, over rocks, and through streams I still felt safe with the seat belt and helmets. It’s definitely a fun outdoor activity that could be enjoyed by friends, couples, or families. They also said they offer guided snowmobile trips, which I’m hoping to go back for this winter!

I need to start this review by noting that I grew up in this area, Northwestern Somerset County, Maine, and thought that I had done it all. My family snowmobiles in the winter, rafts and fishes in the summer, and hunts in the fall. ATV riding has been steadily gaining popularity in the area over the last few years, but until this past weekend it was something I hadn't done yet. I've ridden ATV's before, but mostly around a friend's farm or on local family trails. After riding with Backcountry Expeditions this weekend, my whole perception has changed. We had two couples in our group, along with Backcountry Guides Brian and Rachel, and we took out their Polaris Razor side-by-side models. We covered probably upwards of 75 miles and each mile was more fun than the last. A lot of the trails we rode were snowmobile trails that I was familiar with but riding in the Razor brought a whole new perspective to it. For those who have never been, you're going to get muddy, wet, and dusty, but that only adds to the fun. What amounted to a full day's riding offered a great mix of flat out, wide open dirt roads to open the machines up on, as well as a great variety of muddy, washed out, and generally more challenging terrain to test the machines' versatility and limits. What also made the day that much more convenient and enjoyable was Backcountry's location in The Forks, where they operate out of Northern Outdoors' resort, which has great atmosphere, lodging options, a restaurant, and last but not least, an excellent microbrewery. I can’t wait to hit the trails with Brian and Rachel at Backcountry again, not to mention get my friends and family to try it out, too. Top notch!
