wildwater expeditions

Had a blast rafting, this was my first experience camping in a tent as well as river rafting. The water was a bit chilly for this time of year, however they have wet suits that are available for rental which was wonderful. Also, the guides for your expedition are all extremely friendly and funny. Our guide had great knowledge of the rapids as well as the landmarks that we passed along our journey down the New River Gourge. Would highly recommend this activity for those that are adventurous or just looking for a new activity to try!

As with all raft companies in the area, the same trips but the prices vary. why pay more when you can do the same thing for less and get more by going with ACE Raft.

I would highly recommend using Wildwater Expeditions if you are thinking of a rafting trip on either the Gauley or New River. We took our 12 year old on the lower New River trip, and Heather was our guide. She has over 20 years experience, and while she ran things with a firm hand, for our own safety, she has a great, LIVELY personality and sense of humor, telling us stories about the river, the former coal towns, and the different whitewater areas. The other guys there were also great and helpful. They will take a video and photos of your trip if you'd like to purchase separately, which we did.Safe, friendly, and experienced. Their prices were right about at where the others were, and I think actually a little bit less. You don't someone too inexpensive, either.Dave GorenMarietta, GA

They run a tight ship... I mean raft.Our guides, Matt, Ashley, Billy, and Hank were very knowledgeable and left this family of first-time whitewater river rafters yelling more more, more, more Class II, III, IV, V rapids! Scheduling the trips, confirming, and communication before we arrived in WV was easy and impeccable with this company. Wildwater has been running whitewater trips since 1968 and is the oldest river rafting company in the area. Their guides are very well trained and each is certified to run New and Gauley Rivers trips. I am not sure that holds true for all river companies in the area.I admit when we arrived the first morning at Wildwater and I saw our guides my first impression was, "Good Lord! A bunch of college kids are taking my family down huge whitewater rapids." But once we were on the water any reservation I had quickly disappeared. These guides love what they do, they take it seriously, they make it fun, and it shows. I absolutely recommend them for a family adventure of a lifetime.

For whitewater novices (& experienced rafters), highly recommend this company. Has trips to both the New & Gauley Rivers. Easy to reach on U.S. 19, just over the bridge from Fayetteville. Down-to-earth staff that is as knowledgable and competent as they are fun to be with. Their passion for their job shows. Well run trips, excellent lunch. Appropriate but not ovrerbearing attention to safety. Very willing to allow us flexibility with changing plans, and generous in allowing us a "combined" package of our trip photos over 2 days. From this admittedly hard-to-please reviewer, could not ask for more.
