st. herman's chapel

Worth the trip up the hill to see the mixture of Alaskan and Russian religious heritage. Didn't know what to expect but it had a number of very interesting things to see.

Hard to get a hold of anyone via e-mail or church phone number, but they do list personal numbers online. Finally got a hold of someone and set up a tour of the chapel and seminary. Absolutely wonderful - totally personal, great touch of Alaskan culture, Russian culture, Orthodox culture. Wonderful to get a chance to venerate St. Herman's relics and learn about such recent Orthodox history. Great afternoon!

the priests are very friendly when they saw me taking fotos outside and invited me to go inside. So beautiful, cute and you think you are in a church in Russia.
