We planned this 2-family Spring Break trip with the intention of canoeing the Buffalo, but with the sudden snow melt, the river reached flood stage and was closed to watercraft. Not to fear! The great folks at Buffalo Outdoor Center gave us maps and tips and we were on our way exploring the area. Lost Valley Trail, the elk herd, a nearby cave, and zip-lining with the world's best guide made for a great family getaway. Mills Cabin slept all 8 of us comfortably, and set the tone for a laid-back, relaxing reprieve from daily life. And the hot tub at the cabin was a big plus after a day spent adventuring. Already planning our next visit!

What a cool place to stay. My family has been to Buffalo Outdoor Center a handful of times over the years and this place gets better every time I go. Everyone is very friendly and our cabin was very clean. The views are spectacular!

My husband, 13 and 10 children and I had a great time zip lining with the help of our guides Lisa and Beth. Our daughter was very scared at the beginning but after one zip and seeing how safe we were it was smiles after thatThe lines were a blast. There is a bit of variety. The staff is very patient and knowledgable. I highly recommend. Tip: book a morning trip as storm seems to come later in the day.

Just returned from spending the 2014 Memorial Day weekend in the Upper Buffalo River area. Sunday morning we had a blast zip lining with the Buffalo Outdoor Center canopy crew. I highly recommend that you squeeze this into your itinerary. The zip line tour took approx 2.5 hours. Kim and Brittany were our guides. They were fun, knowledgable and did a great job of keeping everyone safe. Loved this part of my trip!

Each trip to Ponca has been great thanks to the BOC! From zip lines to hiking trails, we always look forward to our next trip. The BOC advised us to check out Whitaker Point (Hawksbill Crag) where there are amazing views and Hemmed-In Hollow which features a nice waterfall. We will be back soon!

First time to zip line so searched the internet for possibilities. BOC was a great choice. I took 6 granddaughters aged 10-15. Booked the trip with Veronica who was very friendly. Directions were super easy. Safety was paramount. The guides, Beth and Tracy were wonderful with my squealing girls. The weather was perfect, the views gorgeous, and the intensity of the zip rides was all I could have hoped for. We were up off ground entire run so no worries about ticks, chiggers, or snakes. Was tempted to take cell for pictures but glad I didn't. The guides took plenty and they were reasonable for entire lot taken for $7 a head. Totally a memory maker! This was a day trip in very rural area so went into Jasper to Ozark Cafe and got a really good burger before heading home. Don't hesitate to try this place. They were fantastic.

We are experienced floaters and decided to float Pruitt to Hasty. Had never used this outfitter before, but took a chance. I called and reserved 2 canoes on Fri. I asked if the river was low with alot of dragging and was told that everything was great. We arrived on Sun to get the canoe, there was no reservation made. Thank goodness they had canoes or we would have been out of luck. We also had to drive another 21 miles to put in at the river. The river was very low and had to drag the canoe many times. So, if you use this outfitter, get a confirmation #, get the name of the person you are talking to, don't listen to what they say about the river levels (check yourself online). Be aware that they don't have a shuttle service. You have to drive a good distance and they will drive your car to pickup point. Will use another outfitter next time!
