vine lake cemetery

The term "Hidden Gem" is overused but this really is. If you live locally and have never been here you are missing sometime special. The Cemetery is divided into sections with the old section near Route 109 containing graves and memorials dating back to the 1600's! The old headstones are works of Art. The newer section is beautifully landscaped, it contains a section for Civil War veterans and the lake is stocked for fishing in the Spring. There is a memorial to patients from the closed Medfield State Hospital. A peaceful place for a walk. The cemetery is lovingly cared for by The Vine Lake Preservation Trust and I suggest visiting their website http://www.vinelakepreservationtrust.org before you visit.

Beautiful to walk or bike through. Fishing in season. Great place to bring kids to fish. Opens up to both Rt 109 and back roads for biking or walking.
