All my life Noon Hill has been one of my favorite places to walk...hike...sit on the rocks to think and reflect. A beautiful section of Medfield, Massachusetts, which has remained untouched and pristine for hundreds of years. Once home to local Native Americans, you can still find arrow heads and other signs of the great history here. My brother still has arrow heads found here in our childhood. Great birdwatching, great views, ponds and streams...a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Fabulous locations for photos of the natural resources as well as for family photos...we have done this many times. If you are an avid hiker, the trails can be steep, but totally able to be negotiated...a great view awaits near the summit of Noon Hill. Very much off the beaten path, but can be accessed easily...just a short ride off Route 109, near the Charles River. Well worth a visit, if you are in the area.
The food and service were good, but the restaurant is becoming a bit pricey unfortunately. I went in for a lunch while in the area and after almost $30 (meal, 2 Buds and tip) I almost fell on the floor. The atmosphere is good but the portions don't justify the price. Sorry I love pub grub, but this one is going on my once in a while list.
Not a bad drive from Cambridge, and a very easy yet beautiful walk! Great for a hike with kids, dogs, and very easy to follow the trails (coming from one who gets lost easily).
Noon Hill is my favorite local walking/hiking/biking spot. I take my dog there at least weekly. The terrain is quite varied but just challenging enough. Trails are well marked. Often meet up with other dog walkers/runners. Never seen any dogs on leash. Never had a problem.
I live steps away from this location. NIce, well kept trails. Great for dogs and their owners. Visitors here are polite and respectful.
Good place for hiking, easy well marked trails. Beutiful area. Trail to the top looks out as far as Gillette Stadium, very pretty in the the fall.
A free place to walk with dogs owned by the Trustees. Parking lot sometimes does fill up on nice days but there is a second unofficial at the other end of the road. Nice view at top includes Foxboro Stadium.
I visit here regularly to run and walk. There are several miles of trails surrounding Noon Hill itself. The top of the hill has a rocky outcrop and in winter you can see fairly well; when the leaves come down you can see Gillette Stadium. There is also a USGS marker at the top for orienteering buffs (although sadly many have smashed away at the marker leaving it mostly ruined.) There are some who run their dogs here off leash so if you are alone or small maybe carry a walking stick. This is a good spot to walk or run for an hour or so at any time of year. Main parking is on Noon Hill Road, a dirt road that is well maintained. It is owned by Trustees Of Reservations so think about giving them a few bucks if you like this reservation.
