Free Live music on the outdoor stage during the Fall weekends. Bring your own chair, blanket and bag of snacks; buy a beer and your good to go.
Hyland Orchard has lovely fruit in season, and apple and pumpkin picking trips, but the main attraction most of the year is its Disc Golf course. They also have great weekend bands and special events in an outdoor pavillion. Pretty, relaxing setting to have a beer, a picnic, play disc golf, and chill out. Their website lists the season music schedule. Small area with goats and animals, special events are usually very kid-friendly. The Orchard is attached to the Rapscallion Microbrewery (formerly Pioneer Brewery), but the businesses are separately owned, and both venues have great live music. Rapscallion has music Friday and Saturday nights year round. Definitely visit Hylands Orchard in good weather, and Rapscallion Brewery year-round!
We stopped here on our way to visit my grandmother. We didn't participate in the orchard but the brewery part was great. The beer did not disappoint and we loved the look of the bar. The staff was extremely friendly and were very happy when we asked about the metal band they had playing on the stereo. We got there just as they opened and it was nice having the place to ourselves briefly. We only stayed for one drink but would definitely stop in again if we're back in Massachusetts.
We had alot of fun here, it is easy to find off the Mass Pike, or RT20. And when we went there was a Grateful Dead Cover Band playing that was really great. We picked apples for awhile and listened to the band- which was a really cool Vibe! There was a large mix of people which provided a great oppurtunity for people watching.Once we were done picking the apples, we sat down on a bench, listened to the tunes drank some of their beers and watched everybody doing their own things.....This is also a great family place, even though I went as a couple I would recommend for families as well. The only reason I could not give this 5 stars was because the apple orchards were not labeled, so we had no idea what we were picking. Also there was an issue with some of the green apples, we could not tell if they were supposed to be green or just not ripened. Others we were talking to had the same issue, and it could easily be solved by a few signs at the end of the rows of apple trees.
