fox hollow golf club

I played The Fox on a recent trip to the tampa area on the recommendation of a golf pro from a nearby course. The starter was a very unfriendly chap who we referred to as "happy". He wasn't rude but certainly not interested in making small talk or interested in making our visit pleasurable. Bought our tee time via tee times USA and was surprised that range balls were not included. I always find this nickel and dime strategy a bit annoying. Since it was late February I won't fault the course about conditions as the Bermuda was not grown in yet. Maybe after it warms up it will be better. Greens were sanded and in general the course was a little rough. The track itself is on the boring side and I have The Fox on my list of places to not bother with more than once. It's an average course at an average price.

This used to be one of my favorites-conditions were always excellent. Played today and conditions were fair at best-course was very wet in many places. Greens had been sanded (we were not told in advance). Our tee time was delayed almost 30 min. and play was slow. Probably won't be back.

Lots of great golf courses available to us in Tampa Bay, but, among public and semi-private offerings, Fox Hollow has been at the top of my list for the 15 years I've been here. Golfed there today, and the conditions were outstanding - among the best greens and overall maintenance in the area at any level of club, at any price! If you are looking for a track of the same caliber as TPC-Tampa Bay, World Woods, other semi-private courses, or private clubs in the area available only seasonally, give The Fox a try. But bring your A game. Fox Hollow provides a golf challenge for all levels of play.
